not working with TBP. fs2 either gets angry and curses or it just tries to do normal fs2 stuff.

You might have to wait until r2 before you can use it,itruns fine for me mainly because i've got up to date tables, nial fighter beams work a treat.

You can't use R2 tables just yet, and without new models, textures, effects and so on, there is not much use for just the tables.

Tables are all .tbl files in your FreeSpace 2 /data/tables folder.

I think he's saying "wait for release 2 to come out so you can use release 2 tables" -- apparently 1.1 and 1.0 don't always play nice.
