They probably just slapped that in here to give modders a reason to use it......IIRC the Ganymede in particular is never used ingame. It's in the Colossus cutscene, though.

FS1's Intro movie had much more detail and clarity. It looked pretty good considering it's an older game. But FS2's Intro movie isn't so...

2. Is that the GTI Hades that's crashed in that planet in the Deneb system? What's it doing there? The GTI Hades in Silent Threat appeared in the Beta Aquilae system. Or is it another Hades? Will it be explained later on in the story(no spoilers please! :P)

1. Video quality is much much worse than that of the FS1, all of the cutscenes in FS2 are. However it was most probably done to save space or something O.o

2. About a million and one inconsistencies with the intro, majority thinks that they were overlooked just so that the intro of FS2 would look cool...if you want to find out the inconsistencies, look at the HLP forums or maybe it was listed somewhere here...do a search, I'm not sure

The video quality is worse because of the nature of the encoding. The FS2 intro is the most problematic, since because of the nature of the encoding (Which, I assume, like JPEG and MPEG, uses some form of the Fourier transformation), Colors like blue (which are high-frequency), have very visible compression errors, and you get a pretty clear explanation of why the images there simply look worse. Of course, the bitrate could (And I seem to think it is) lower than FS1's.

Yeah but if the Colossus was a secret it could have been that people thought that was the second hades.

Who says the Big C was a secret? Okay you don't hear about it before it shows up to save the day in 'The Sixth Wonder' but no where else does is say (or even hint?) that the Colossus was secret. 30000 officers and crew can suddenly be reassigned without anyone knowing about it, and you can't have a considerable amount of construction workers and designers working on something without someone at sometime letting something slip.

And secondly the Colossus, as someone else has pointed out, is a message. Would you keep something like that a secret. Admittedly someparts would be kept classified (like turret number etc).

Feel free to disagree.

Maybe the first stages of construction were secret and sparked the rumours forcing the GTVA to come clean

Besides I only said IF the colossus was a secret. I`ve not seen enough to decide either way (especially since the colossus cutscene stuff was secret yet didn`t reveal anything that wouldn`t be public knowledge for a modern warship)

Actually only one Deimos with 1 (or was it two?) BFGreens is enough for a Sathanas...just put the Deimos to get on top of the Sathanas or inbetween the Sathanas' tentacles...
