There are many differences, paradoxes and conflicts between FS1 and FS2. The starmap is different - very different. There are many projects, ships, guns etc., which, referring to FS2, are started right after the outbreak of the Great War (which also often includes T-V war). Like the corvettes - and still, in FS1 the player is even informed on Ursa project etc.

No, they were started at the conclusion of the Great War, during the Reconstruction period. Look it up in the Tech Room. The GTVA basically redesigned everything left over from the Great War to accomidate new tecnologies like beams.
