If your going to cheat, why not just use the cheat codes?
You dont have to edit each mission you want to be invulnerable in.

true, but i don't always remember to turn them off before i jump out. hehehe
Besides, FreeSpace 1 doesn't allow you to carry on even if you turn off the cheat codes.

I am so very very annoyed that I bought Freespace 2 early and therefore never got the Freespace 1 campaign included in the CD.

The FS1 port is only available as a download. The FS1/FS2 combo available to buy is actually both games together (minus silent threat).

Are you absolutely sure about that? I clearly remember a few months after release a new CD came out, and I exchanged EMails between Volition and Interplay about how Interplay would not allow the converted campaign that was in stores to be released for download. I guess I could have misunderstood then, and discussed things totally oblivious to the facts, and neither party picked up on my misunderstanding, but that just seems unlikely.

No you can't, and even if you culd it doesn't change any scores:
example;
in X-Wing Alliance, you can turn on unlimited ammo, and inveunerability, but you get a lower point rating, by going into options, you can turn them off in mission, but the point value still is diminished

I`m pretty damn sure. Why would interplay bundle the port when they can bundle the real thing instead?

erm, in XWA, you can have unlimited Ammo and still retain your points.
it is just the invulnerability that takes away the points.
