I like Celestia very much indeed.
I saw one of you comparing it to Starry Night, but those two products are very different; Celestia is a 3D space Planetarium, while Starry Night is an astronomy software.
I use both, for both is great in each their ways.
And yes, you can create a node-map with it!
(actually, I created a starmap with it once, to illustrate the original one from the 1960's Zeta Reticuli case.)
Stargazer.

Don't worry about it...

I just need star data for Wolf 359, Laramis, N362, Ikeya, Ribos, Vasuda, Tau Sigma, Tegmen, Delphi, and Cygnus X-1. I propose we include the two Knossos systems as well- I suggest calling the nebula Styx, after the river in Greek mythology that one had to cross to get into Hades. We may be able to find a real binary system where the second Knossos linked to.

Hmm, how do you select whichever systems you want?

i was just going to ask that :]
i think those systems have other names (eg: hd <somenumber> ), i just cant figure out what they are.
are you editing the alterism.dat? if so, make it a new one with no other constellations (to reduce confusion) and back up your current asterisms.dat.
there's no way to make one constellation brighter than the others...

You shouldn`t have that much trouble finding Wolf 359. It's less than 20LY from Earth.

http://www.solstation.com/stars/wolf359.htm
Here's some info on the star. It's 7.8LY away from sol (Pretty much what I thought but I hedged my bets and said 20) and the third closest star system to Sol.
It's also too dim to be seen with the naked eye (one reason why you can`t find it on your program? ).
Anyway Wolf 359 is the star's proper name so if it isn`t showing up on your program don`t blame me!

Well, Wolf 359 does not appear in Celestia, under any name. I'd like to input it but I can't find any way to; stars.dat isn't standard text. Perhaps I'll email the creator of Celestia to find a way to add to it.
