To GalacticEmperor:

I hope you don't mind that I've just started a small campaign where you play as Vasudans. It takes place right after the fall of the Galatea and as Vasudan pilot player tries to save his homeworld from the Lucifer (everyone knows how it's going to end, I think ) It will be approximately 3 - 4 missions long and I've almost completed the first mission. Oh, and I'd like to know is there any place where to upload it.

Neb: Send it to me when you're done; I'll post it under the Port's HLP server. If it's only 3-4 missions maybe I can integrate it into the campaign. There will probably be continuity issues to sort out though.

Weeeee! Good to know that all my work hasn't been in vain. The first mission is basically ( only debriefing is yet to be done, god I hate those debriefings ) ready now and I'm starting the second. And to continuance issues: Yes there will propably be some as player actually is part of Vasuda Prime's planetary defence force of some sort so he hasn't even fought anyone before, that can be fixed with few changed messages and briefing texts, though.

Once again to GalacticEmperor:

I've modified the Cutscenes.tbl to allow the Freespace 2 to show the Freespace 1 cutscenes. I did so because they didn't run when they were only marked to the campaign editor. ( Atleast they run in the Briefing Cutscenes place in the tech room database) I've go to test further (Read: Complete the Campaign from beginning) to make sure that they also run in the game. The Freespace 1 cd's are required to run them ofcourse.

Hey, new to the message boards but a long-time on-and-off player of FS1/2. First time I have had a question, so I figured this is the best place to ask.

I decided to try out the Freespace Port, and I copied the VB file into the main directory along with the weapons animations patch files into the cbanims. I'm pretty sure that's the right way to do that, but here's the question: what files do I copy off the Freespace CDs so I can get the mission breifing/debreifing and in-game music and speech?

While I'm here, I might as well ask this one too: which file do I edit in notepad to avoid the 2 minute time warp in the missions? And what exactly do I edit?

Thanks in advance.

lol, you have the same signature I use on another site, Evil Dead is great. Unfortuanetly that is all I have to say. Still have yet to d/l this, and a question too I guess then...

If I install this port, and am still running the derelict Campeign, will the two conflict? or can I have both installed at the same time?

I just reinstalled FS2 the other day and man...i totally forgot wut an awesome game it is!!! Since I never played FS1 i decided to try the port since it used the new high resolution graphics. For the most part everything is ok except for these annoying crashes that i get. It never crashes during the gameplay...only during command briefings and debriefings. Any thoughts? I put the vp file into my main FS2 folder and copied over the cbanims file...the voc file...and the main freespace vp file into the data folder. Does this sound right? Oh yeah and by the way the game never crashed when I played through the normal FS2 campaign.

Most answers can/have already been answered at the Freespace Port Forum. Hit the link in my sig and click on the Forum button. Try the "Media Avaliability" thread for instructions on using your FS1 data with the port.

Derelict and the Port will NOT work together, since they both use mods.
Edit the mission file itself (the .fs2 file) to change the entry delay.
