If I understood your question correctly, then answer is no. We can't code anything, as Volition can't release a source code or SDK we can't do anything like that. And cracking the code is highly illegal.
But there are ways to simulate that by using red-alert modes.
For example, in mission 1 player enters hyperspace, mission ends in red-alert. Then mission 2 starts directly in hyperspace without actual debriefing and briefing in between the missions. Only red-alert briefing is shown instead of debriefing and briefing.
So, what you asked is actually doable and even without any coding.

Well I did'nt actually mean 'code', but you can set up triggers in FRED2, right.
So would you be able to set a trigger that would load the Hyperspace map, after the Depart animation was finished?

We're planning to use the nebula effects to do hyperspace. The subspace tunnel is not particularly appropriate, at least not in what I can see us doing with it.
Hyperspace sort of works in R1....but we'll improve the effect for R2.

IceFire: I'll post some caps as soon as I can find a cap util that werks... apparently PSP 7's capture function won't do caps across a mode switch. The only issue I have right now is that the source for the dummy object is a hand-coded DXF, which segeltuch doesn't really dig, and in fred2 two of the axes got filpped. <sic>
It works fine in-game but in fred you have to disregard what you think you're seeing and trust the numbers.
Actually, I'm not able to post attachments, apparently. I'll link to one of my websites.

Umm...FreeSpace 2 has a perfectly good screen capture system built in. Press Print Screen as many times as you want. Output is TGA files.
Yeah, no attachments to this board. Sorry.
The dimensions should be enough. A number on the team can make a more friendly version of the model. Its the concept/size/spacing/etc that you've setup that I think were interested in.
Before we 'go' or 'no go' it we'll see how easy it is to setup. I don't want to make something difficult to use...we shall see

Aha! Patchwerk, I did not say that the ship must depart after arrival. Use the ship-vanish event, that is how it works.

Okay, IceFire... I've got a screenshot posted along with a link to the POF file. The original model was four tringles, spaced 400m apart. Don't know what the heck happened when segeltuch got ahold of it, but the bounding still worked out to a 400m radius, so no harm done. Anyways.

Pretty pic-a-ture.
Oh! And another reason that I didn't like using a real ship, even with vanish... this model has only two faces, so it doesn't add to the laready profuse model clutter in fred. It also provides a consistent jump node size, regardless of ship coming through. But just my personal pref. Whatever frosts your pancakes!

Other people are nuts because they create a useless unofficial mission archive although there is an official one...be a bit nicer next time.
