Those are fighterkillers on the Cain and Demon. The Typhon also has them; Shivan Clusters are used by the Demon, Lilith, and Moloch.
I HATE fighterkillers.

Aren't FigherKiller missiles the little things ejected from Synaptics/Pirhanas?

I use not so many Beams, rather place Flak. Heavy flak can be really deadly and it is good protection against torpedoes.
Fusion mortars aren`t very effective, I prefer a piranha.
Still, amybe not so deadly, but it can make a mess.
... once equipped enemy`s Fenris with trebuthet. Deadly.
But the most original kill I received was due to Sathanas.
I stopped ( there was no enemy units left expect THE ship0 my Erinyes and began to fire trebuthets.
Nothing, no Flak, no AAA nor anything.
After 10 seconds, all 4 BFReds shot at me.
