As Galen said in ACTA it was humans that finally drove away the shadows, so the Drakh would use the death cloud on earth but since EA had two advances prototype destroyers and a big fleet of ships the Drakh must have reasoned that the human may destroy the cloud and had the plague filled tankers as back up..

They were ISA owned and built but the EA "had" them for the time in question - if only to test out their capabilities. The crews were entirely EA crews.

Yes crew were from EAS Charon and its crew were really loyal to its Captain and Charons Captain was loyal to earth, but perhaps he was little more loyal to president Sheridan.

So what ever would happen Captain Anderson wouldn't have left with Victory and abandoned Sheridan.

So did EA really had Victory? Well Gideon is different...

Captain Anderson took his ship AWOL because he was compelled to by Galen. So when the problem of confronting the Drakh came up, Anderson knew that his ship wouldn't be quite enough for dealing with the Drakh. What would have happened to Anderson had he survived is anyones guess, but his sacrifice saved Earth....

As far as Captain Gideon and his crew, the Excalibur is on loan to the Earth Alliance. The Excalibur is still the ISA's ship, but Gideon has been granted command of it so its his ship for the time being and Gideon is a Captain in the Earth Force so thats where the command stucture lies, for him and his crew.

I just watched a Crusade episode... In the intro it's clearly stated that the Excalibur is called "Earth Alliance Starship Excalibur". So it's clearly an Earthforce vessel. It may be on loan from the ISA, but if EA decided to use it for it's own agenda, no one could stop them...

Gideon was captain of an Explorer class vessel, not a freighter. I harldy think EA would give command of the Excaliber to a freighter captain!

Starkiller: Its probably clearly stated so that a bozo who turns on the TV will know what the hell it is....sometimes these things are done for other reasons.

Its still an ISA warship, its owned by the ISA....its on loan. If the ISA wants it back, they will get it back. The idea however was for it to work along Earth Force lines and it was designed very much as an Earth Force ship, just like the Minbari designed the WhiteStar as a Minbari ship. There's plenty of parallels.
