Welcome to the VWBB!

Well, I think at one time the music for both games was downloadable from both here (FreeSpace Watch) and Volition's own site in .mp3 format, but these dl's might have disappeared.

In any event, the music is readily available on your hard drive (or the CD's if you chose not to install them). Before you can begin anything, you need VP Viewer (it's near the bottom of the page). Download and install this and you'll be able to open up the games' .vp files, which is where they store the sounds, textures, etc. Anyways, you're looking for a file called warble.vp. Check in your Games/FreeSpace2 directory or on either of the CDs. Open it up with VP Viewer and you'll find a list of all the music files in the game. You can extract these from the .vp files too with the Viewer.

BTW, if you're wondering where Ace got the names, open up FRED2 and go to the Mission Editor (Shift+N). There you'll see where the designer can chose what music track s/he wants played.

My favourite music for FS2 is actually some of the stuff I collected together for TM before it was put on hold (read -> NOT dead)...

Ace, Ice, if either of you want any of it for your campaigns, give me a bell...

its really quite good stuff
