Yeah, I've got most all the AOG literature. You can probably find it at your local hobby shop, or I caould scan a few pages for you, there are also a few sites online that have alot of the info in .pdf form.
I know that always bugged my too. When I would play AOG and we would use era specific battles we could almost never use the Posidon. if you can find a data sheet for it it will list the date that if first came into service at the top left column of the ships stats.

Ghostrider, the Warlocks didn't come into service a month after the civil war. Ivanova was posted to a Warlock yes, but it was probably months before the final outfitting was done.
The Poseidon may have been in development before the Warlock as well and just took longer to move into active service. Therefore, the rotational section was a throwback.

A fair bit bigger. Not so much in length as in sheer volume.

My take on the situation is the same as your's Ghost Rider. According to IceFire's .plan the second release is indeed to be on the EA civil war, with of course some Minbari involvement. Now, if this is the case then the White Star must be released as it is integral to to any plot used. If this means that extra time is required to complete the release then so be it but the core vessels NEEDED for this compaign in my eyes are:
Nova
Midwinter
Omega
Omega-X
Olympus
Orion
Starfury
Thunderbolt
Invader
Crew Shuttle
Freighter
Sharlin
Nial
Lintira
White Star
and of course...
Babylon 5!
This is not a demand but simply my view of the essentials.
This is the list directly from the seniors core DEV team.
this list has alredy been mentioned once but hell here it goes again.
EA Aurora-x
EA Badger
EA Thunderbolt
EA Midwinter
EA Omega
EA Omega-X
EA Babylon 5
RAIDER Battle Wagon
EA Asimov
EA Earth Force 1
EA Invader Pod
EA Explorer
G.O.D Satellite
ISA Whitestar
ISA Bluestar
+ LOD'ed and/or repainted versions of the ships you all already have.
...and a few more surprises...(dev teams black projects ) I cant tell you more or else will be expelled from the dev team...

IceFire: That's a possibility but not very convincing. Remember the Warlock project was begun by Pres. Clark's R&D teams. it was originally intended for the Warlocks to have the Shadowtech updates. But as Sheridan was getting too close, the Warlock prototype wasn't completed and everything was retrofitted into Omega hulls being constructed. But after Clark's defeat the real EA finished what was left and the first Warlocks came down the assembly line and it shouldn't have taken too long because the Warlocks were almost finished by Clark, Ivanova was posted on one of these. Though this is purely speculation on my part, there is a chance that the Shadows were going to give the Warlock artificial gravity as well, that ship was never designed with a rotational section from the beginning and I doubt Clark was going to leave it in zero-g. Also if it was due to delays they still would have managed to redesign the ship's need for a rotational section and integrated the gravemetric drives because then in fact both the Warlock and the Poseidon were brought on line at the same time. Nevertheless, I'd like to see it in the next release. Purdy please ???

Poseidon will not be in the second release. It'll be in an AoG/Non-Canon release down the road along with other ships like the Tempest, Triton, Ocutrion, Bin'tak and others.

IceFire: Does that mean that the AoG ships will not be featured in a campaign? That's a real shame!!!

In a campaign? That suggests that they wouldn't be in any campaign.
I'm just saying that were doing Canon ships first (canon in my mind is show stuff only) and then moving to non-canon after.

The first release was the Earth-Minbari War Demo.
Does that mean...
a) That this was a demo of the Eath-Minbari War Campiagn?
or b) That the Eath-Minbari War Campaign was the demo for the completed thing when everything is done?

The first release is the EA-Minbari War (demo).
All of the involved ships are included and there is a (full) five mission campaign.
Bugs aside (heaven forbid) it is basically complete as a stand-alone package.
The demo part refers more to the fact that what is there is quite limited (up to the end of the war) and there are further alterations to the balance and feel of the play to be made.
TBP team may put together a couple of more *expansion* missions for the campaign eventually but not in the near future as far as I know.
Many individuals are putting together missions or small campaigns (myself included) that should fill out some of the intermediate portions of the war. It ultimately may even be an idea to compile these missions with the originals and some extra voice acting to create a large campaign, who knows?
