The beauty is that it was, indeed, a primary weapon. I will try to locate the mod right now, I think the volition mod archive has it.

It's the FS2 modpack "Hypermod 2". Inside its weapons tbl there's one labeled "Alance", which is the beam weapon. I assume it would be possible to simply copy/paste it into the TBP weapons tbl?

Pretty sure hypermod uses turrets for their beams. Or they edited the Targeting Laser. It still doesn't work so well.

EDIT: Yes, its a Targeting Laser, and Targeting Lasers do not work very well. So yet again, point well taken, but point rejected.
