Oh, crap...
While I was opening a webpage on my other computer, a window popped up saying something to the effect of: "Your TCP/IP configuration may allow another Internet user to access your files. Would you like Windows to disable TCP/IP file and print sharing? (Highly recommended)"
Now, I'd been working on networking the computers, so I kinda expected this. I noticed that there was a little globe in the upper-left (like you'd see on some pop-up from IE or something), except that the art was not very Microsoft-ish looking (actually it appeared quite fake). Well, I click "YES" and it says "You must restart for the changes to take effect." Restart, and now it powers up but it's like it never sees anything. Like the motherboard's trashed or something. The HDD light is steady on, the drives aren't even running, it doesn't see the video card, it does absolutely nothing. So we can't even turn it on to see what's wrong!
I thought that maybe I plugged something in wrong, so I go and disconnect everything except the mouse, keyboard, and monitor. No effect. So I'm fairly sure something went in and fried the BIOS on the board...
And we're in a money crunch right now, so we can't afford to go buy another mobo (hell, we couldn't afford a BIOS chip if we wanted or needed it!!). But we might as well start saving up anyways, since it was just a P-200
But anyways, do you think this was a virus attack, or did something glitch in the registry? Since it isn't even getting far enough to load windows, I'm thinking it was a virus...
