Sigma957 If these games are Free, we dont NEED NO STINKIN' LISCENCE... and indeed, they are free ))
- IFH is ahead of the FS2 mod intechnology, and its purely B5, designed to have everything B5 did.
- On the other hand Freespace 2 has an established fanbase, familiar interface, a smart AI, and much lower system requirements.
IFH has 2 majopr things to do before they release their 2nd demo, and thats:
- some basic AI
- Hit system for beam weapons... at the moment beam-weapons pass right through ships, I think

umm. that screenshot doesn't look all that special.. The sharlins we have are about as good model wise, and better textured. The lighting system in that looks, well, wrong. There's WAY too much ambient light, it almost makes it look unlit.
The nials look better though, as there's proper beams coming off them, but they're a little small to see the model

There's a readme file with it, which explains the keyboard movement commands, but I use the mouse. A and Z are the throttle controls, and backspace stops you. Spacebar fires the guns. H targets.

I just hope that the beams "Slice and dice" like they say they do
That game does look pretty damn cool, I must say, and themost of the models are better than the ones made for this mod... but simply for the reason that they have a MUCH higher poly count, and I think that the people making the models for this mod should feel proud that their lower polygon models look nearly as good as, and in some cases better than those made for IFH
(Just for the record, I'm not saying the IFH models are crap for the poly count either! The models for both IFH and TBP are brilliant)

The big advantage it has over TBP, is that the fighters can be controlled like they are in the show.

IFH is completely unoptimized and their sharlins look like a pile of crap

Kazan, I'm sure IFH-guys appreciate any kind of comments, but let's keep the coolness and not start any wars eh?

I think the main thing to understand is that ITB will play totally differently to TBP.
The only newtonian physics game I've played was frontier:Elite 2, and yes, it had realistic physics.. but it wasn't fun to play.
TBP is more of an action game, designed for dogfighting and therefore using the Freespace engine.

They never said their Sharlin was done. They have posted like 3 screenshots of it...ever.
the rest of the 50 or so screenshots on their site are of other SWEET ships that are nearing completion.... so go look at the pictures of their fury, or the hyperion, or their Omega... and comment on THOSE if you want to comment on IFH meshes.
now lets turn this into something positive.
BOTH teams are planning on releasing a DEMO at the end of August! LETS SEE WHO GETS THEIR FIRST!

- Think of the difference between Falcon 4.0 and Strike Commander
I personally found Strike Commander was infinitely more fun than Falcon 4.0.

Yeah, but I-War 2 has realistic physics, and that is one hella good game.

That was my first (and only) flight sim... got it in a 2 pack with Privateer.
Never finished either, though. Still got the original joystick for it, mind you
