Just a Warlock with Shadow armour. I still believe even that couldn't give me the same shock as seeing the Omega-X for the first time

For those with lightwave, go to www.tp2b.de and enter the models section, in "Other Tech" there is a Dilgar Cruise based on the ITF one.

To the original question:
- Narn Bin'Tak Dreadnought(nice and massive, rox
- Minbari Troligan Armored Cruiser (nice design, kinda aggressive look)
- Abbai Miliani Carrier (nice, although not that much B5-looking)
- Brakiri Brokados Battle Carrier (a beauty!)

Anyone knows what those shadow tentacles are actually for? I dont think they're on the Omega X to make it look more dreadful, they must have a function.

Not sure about tentacles. But with them the ship looks more evil, dangerous, mean, scary.

But hey, what if all energy fired upon the ship goes to these tentacles? These tentacles are far away from the main hull, systems and turrets. If the tentacle is destroyed by a massive amount of energy, main hull and turrets does not take damage. And these tentacles grows back in time, howewer possibly engineers have to help in this process becouse we don't fully understand how the bio armor works.

Longest are around the engines... hmm... Maybe they are cooling systems.
Maybe it can draw power from hyperspace with them.
Maybe it can crush other ships with them

My guess would also be sensors.

Theyre definitely not hyperspace tap engines. This technology would make the Humans more powerful than any race since they'd have virtually unlimited energy sources.

I think they're for psychological effect mostly. Otherwise it's just a darker shade of warlock

Feelers. Sensor arrays I'd say too. Shadows can sense ships in hyperspace from normalspace and vice versa. Omega-x too, remember how they only arrived after the whitestars where already there. They were able to detect them from hyperspace.

They can't be hyperspace taps, the OX doesn't have it. And it doesn't have shadow jump engines or normal engines either, EA engines and it still opens jump points.

I do have to mention that the most likely modelers originally added them just so it'd look more like a shadow vessel.

I think that those tentacles in that Warlock cruiser are shadow energy diffusers. Those tentacles drain energy from incoming shots. They drain it until they are full, and then they cripple away (like shadow vessels which are being destroyed, they just cripple away). That is my guess.
