Let me put it this way. Our main source of water comes from the Sea of Galilie. It's current water level is around 3 meters lower than norm, and the salinity is increasing in the wells in the area, which means that sea water is seeping in. The red line has been passed and repositioned a number of times. So, yes, we could use a monsoon or three.

yeah, i know so far i think there is only one SUBWAY in tasmania, and that's where i live. I don't know how many there are in the whole of australia though

hey, stop that, i would commit premeditated murder for a subways sub at this point. especially one of those new ones with the special sauce on it. and of course we don't have any major fast food outlets, the island only has 17 square miles of land wich is streched out 34 miles around a lagoon. where would you put it (of, given the oppertunity, us sailors could probably find a place.)

Who wants to eat a McDonalds anyways.

Wendys or Burger King are the superior fast food chains. Of course, fast food is like eating radioactive sludge...or maybe it is.

i have been here since january, bring on the rads.

personally i would prefer arby's to either of those choices, though i have to admit that wendy's has some damned good fries, and you have to give them credit for that triple cheese burger.

Not here they aren't! Wendy's was the first fast-food chain store here in Israel, and since Israelis still didn't have any experience with that kind of stuff, they went out of buisiness pretty quick. (People actually were throwing the trays into the trash along with the garbage! At least, they were until BK put a few metal bars above the trash can to prevent the passage of the trays! And no, I'm not joking...).

Anyways, we have McD's, BK's, Dunkin' Doughnuts, KFC and Nathan's (of the fast foods). The problem is that BK is kosher, so they don't have any dairy products - no cheeseburgers, and their "milk" shakes are made out of... well, I don't truly know what they're made out of, but it ain't milk!

Charger, tell us: in a place so remote, etc, as DG, how the heck did you find out about FS2?

jeez, i've only been here since january of this year.

but as an american, i am developing a bed case of fast food withdrawls. what makes it bad is that i am starting to forget what real food tastes like. i personally think that the guys who cook for us around here need to be taought what the food is supposed to taste like.

Gosh, in the IDF the cooks had to eat the food along with the rest of us grunts, so the food was actually reasonable. Sometimes. Sort of....

I prefer Tim Hortons above all. But since few of you live in Canada, you don't know what im talking about.
