And hmmmmm..SMCa Aegis..Ca...damn. (in screen 25).
Sounds and looks like the counter to the Aeolus though. An anti-aircraft cruiser.

Screen 27: Is it just me, or has the hangar bay thingy been lengthened? And the back of the skip a little curvier, and something else protruding (possibly a sensor array)?

if you are desperate for a model for a liner. you could always mod a hippocrates so that it is bright white. i know most liners nowadays are tending towards white as a color for their ships. just make sure you cover it in windows, also include a couple of lines of large windows for gardens and rec decks. it would certainly spruce up the old hipocrates.

No can do on the extracting the Tachyon Liner. WereWolf over at Stealth Shipyards has yet to be able to extract the models. But, it would be simple to copy it though. Take maybe an hour to make the model.

Here is the picture of it. I'm working on a model for it now, for a Tachyon MOD. But since I only can convert it and make the model, if you used it, and gave me credit for it, would you put a texture on it? Please? well, not really, if you soften the corners a little bit, and put a more graceful bow on it, it should work quite well. afterall, its whats on the inside that matters, and that ship certainly has the internal volume for all kinds of stuff. it looks like you could have a full amusement park in there, or maybe a really large park deck. certainly a mall and various other recreational facilities.

If it was more stylish, then I'd be right happy. Maybe Bobboau wants to try some style...but thats definately the right idea.

Terran design philosphy is boxy and stuff...and it doesn't look too bad. Yes, maybe it needs some minor modifications...but it's not exactly hideous.

I have a theory that it's very easy to make Terran ships, relaitvely speaking as they're just big boxes full of guns. By comparison few Vasudan vessels are made because there's little other material to drawn inspiration from, and all that. Same with Shivans, but they don't need too many new ships as they're meant to be both homogenous, and what they have is terrifying.

It's a luxury liner, it is not supposed to have any guns. That pic is right before some Blood Pirates go in there and attack it.
If I could make the curves very well, the Galspan Capital Ships would look great in FreeSpace 2.

I've completed and converted the model to .COB if you change your mind.

On another note, Over in the Fringe we have a news group that broadcasts important duels, and tournments. If anybody is interested at looking at the report on the New Dawn Base War with Neechi here it is. I'm in some of these pictures. I used to go by CODEDOG when I was =RG= but now I'm ND so I can by Hannibal. The report is unibais and is nicely done. And the screenshots are cool too. Cozmic is quite humorous in his reports. And just look at the one with Wildfire in it where the heavy diemos lasers off the Bora base is shooting at him. That is REAL fire power against fighters. Especailly that little paper thin peggy he is flying. And of course I am the Credit Plant king with my Mace swooping down and rocketing the Spanner Credir Plants.

Yes, in Tachyon the Laser turrets and the stations are better than FS2's lasers and Stations, since all the stations are, are just pieces place together to make one station.

about that boxy design theory, well its true, terrans usually go for the lego look, and thats true even now, military and civilian cargo ships are boxy because its cheaper to make a box than a circle, the ships are curved only where they have to be. but when you take a look at civilian yahts and cruise liners, you will see a much more graceful design. they attempt to use at least some asthetics in their design because unlike the cargo ships and military vessels, their goal is to get people to buy tickets to travel on them. as a result, the ships are going to reflect the areas that they operate in and what thier function is. a ship designed to just haul people from one point to another is going to look a bit more boxy and is and will have a bit more emphasis placed on speed and economy. after all, it is designed to get as many people there as possible and as quickly as possible. as ship designed for pleasure cruises on the other hand will place more emphasis on design and attractions than speed and economy. also, ships that operate in dangorous areas would also boast rather effective anti fighter weapons, though they would probably have light missile banks when compared to warships due to the cost of the missiles themselves. ships intended to transport poeple should tend to be graceful looking boxes or maybe even light capitol ships that have been stripped and repainted for the dangorous areas, while the ships intended for pleasure should represent grace and beauty stripped to their very essence.

Tachyon in multiplayer is better, and you can have more than 26 objects on screen at one time. But the reality of the game is not real since there is no inertia, and the graphix are not as good.
