If the GTVA was smart, they'd send in Orions first, then tTyphons, then Hecates, and Hatshepsuts...

5 billion pilots is maybe abit much hell that many and that fleet of sathanus's would run scared but they certainly could have a large military just incase the shivans returned to sol

but if Sol got into a war, and the auto-enlist whatever they used during the vietnam war would be used again, then there would be a hell of alot of ships fighting for sol...

why would they use an american system?

anyway i think people would be compelled into service so that thye dont have to be live in fear, or if some facistic regieme is in place a form of national service would be in place.

On another note would the terrans have some form of large instiallation, admitedly they could mount large weaponary on it BUT what of the lessons learned in the great war, the Lucifer destroyed fixed instilations with ease.

Well, I only used an american system, because US schools don't teach much of foreign military tactics

And imagine, when the Golgotha enters Sol, if it does, it gets detroyed by a large installation with rapid-fire, high-damage laser fire on all sides. Like a Ganymede stretched out alot, and fitted with turrets around the old Sol jump node...

The golgotha enters and is shot at on all sides by the flail-like maxim-like lasers... would be a shame...

Offhand, i'd say that i've upgraded my computer lately from a lowly 233 mhz to a more manageable 633 mhz and i'm getting one thing out of freespace 2 that i've never had before...............dizzyness and motion sickness to a light degree

How you people get motion sickness from playing FreeSpace I have no idea. The only games that can do that to me are Quake and Half-Life. Surprisingly, COunterstrike doesn't.
