New mission

Hi,

I've been reading with interest for some time now, and have to say I really enjoyed both the mod and the topics on the forum (can't wait for release 2...)

As a student I have some (not much though) time to burn and decided to make a mission for FS2:TBP. I'm not sure if it's any good, but its now at a point where it is playable (haha). I should have it hosted soon, so I'll give you a link.

If you don't mind, I would appreciate any feedback you guys can give.

Thanks

I haven't had time to play (since FREDing currently ), but looked on your mission and it seemed pretty decent and working mission and I'll be playing it tomorrow right after school.

I noticed few mistakes:

1. On event "Stalin 50%" it should be like this:

-when
<
Hits-left
Stalin
50

2. I think (not sure) that on events "Fighters Dock" and "Alpha leaves" should have chain on them, so directives would come in right time and not in begining of mission.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

PS. Welcome to the VWBB TBP section

Welcome! Most of us are students with little time. You'll instantly understand why we take as long as we do. Most of the dev team is comprised of students.

We'll be providing some new missions (probably about 8 or so) in the coming release. We'll also begin working on a much more extensive campaign after that time.

What conflict or timeframe are the new relases going to focus on? Centauri-Narn? EA Civil war? When I get some free time I'll definately have a look at the events Lady Rose, thanks.

I suppose the next step is for me to do some voice acting and finish the debriefing.

It's time for the ruthless Synkkä Partaterä (tm) feedback.

First, the background was decent but could've been better. (I'm always complaining about background).

The mission was very short, you accomplished the objectives without doing anything and it was way too easy and yes, I tried the mission with normal and hard.

And then there were helluva lot of friendly ships on Beta, Gamma and Delta. No wonder the Minbari fighters were dealt with so fast.

Continue with FREDding, you show a lot of promise.

Thumbs up Don't worry Agamemnon, everyone started from somewhere.

If you may think that your first mission was bad, you must see mine then. I have kept it just to remember what I started from. The folks here offer just constructive criticism

I am on the same boat that you are on, trying to get a hold of FRED, and still can't imagine myself creating that good missions, others have made ( and I am thinking especially of Lady Rose and team). Keep making missions, as this way TBP can only get better.

Lady Rose, may I humbly suggest that you send Agamemnon the .doc file you sent me? (TBP FRED tutorial) It has helped me A LOT.

As to Lady Rose and all the rest of the team, cheers!
I am finishing my tour of duty Jan. 4th, and right after that, I will be a civillian again, with a PC of my own to work on, and not just another Internet Cafe client.

The days are slowly but surely passing.

and Agamemnon, if you love B5 like you say you are, you really can't deny yourself the opportunity to tell a B5 story the way you feel it should be told.

For FRED, for me is more than a mission editor, it is a story telling device. It is just so much more elaborate and pretty to look at.

Story telling

That's a thought...

I've been running a B5 universe RPG for a while - my players seem to enjoy it. I could actually do some of the combat on a LAN if I could FRED with TBP ships...

hmmm.
