Angry Nukes?

I don´t understand what´s so cool on tactical nukes!
Fusion mines at least have 10 times the power and no radioactive fallout you must avoid!
Not to talk about antimater charges and other nice stuff

"Nuke" means both fusion and fission bombs. And as far as I know, hydrogen bomb is actually a fusion bomb, using a fission warhead as a "catalyst".

Raider may be referring to the "tactical" part of tactical nuke as tactical refers to a specific range of yields for the warhead, regardless of explosive type.

Anti-matter weapons would have a far worse fall out anyway. Think of all of the high energy particles (and anti-particles) and photons released. Not to mention any stray anti-matter that is not consumed in the reaction.

Very powerful though:

E=mc2 means that fewer than 10 grams of matter and 10 grams of antimatter would be needed to recreate a 500MT (B5 tactical nuke) explosion as opposed to what looked like devices over 10kg in 'Thirdspace'.

I dont think you would feel very comfortable carrying a 500MT (B5 tactical nuke) in a paperbag as a casing

Unhappy

It is called as "tactical" because it can be used as end war quickly and with devastating results. Tactical were a better idea than massacre nuke. That is something which never should been invented and when it is used in war it is most devastating thing you can use (except arsenic, used in X-15 [the Rock]). Nukes kills everything in 15 km instantly and in 60 km in two months. Do you remember Hirosima or Nagasaki? If there is WW 3 non of us will survive. I only hope it wont happen in my life time nor my childs (If I have them in future) life time.

And in that arsenic weapons like X-15 doesn't cause fallout, but it will kill everything living in earth.

500MT is seen as tactical in B5, because fallout is not an issue in space (well, not much of an issue). Also, these bombs are fusion based so fallout will not be very radiocative (if at all) after the initial blast, unless the reaction was self sustaining (hmmm, interesting idea).

Watch the rock again, bud. The green stuff was V-X gas, not at all arsenic based. The stuff really exists, though it's not so mean as portrayed in the movie. Or, at least, not so gory. It causes complete and utter paralysis, and will stop your ability to breathe, then your heart. That dissolving of skin was just to make the movie 'cooler'.

The X-15 is one of the X-planes, the fastest non-spaceworthy aircraft ever made. Holds an unofficial powered flight speed record of mach 6.

Tactical nukes in modern standards are 50kt, and would still redecorate Manhattan quite effectively. A strategic nuke, typically 50Mt or more, are designed to completely destroy cities.

The largest nuke set off to date was of russian designed, arouind 400Mt. One of these would make a lovely glow-in-the-dark glass crater the size of Kansas.

Watched it on Channel 5 last night, beautiful film. One of the best action films EVER. I'm going to watch Face/Off soon, another Cage classic.

Actually my X-planes poster (published by the National Air and Space Museum) says the X-15 was capable of spaceflight. Probably only for a very short duration, and definitly sub-orbital. For this they define "spaceflight as being in exess of 250,000 feet. And,being the first bird to go hyper-sonic earns it a place in my heart.

That's correct... The pilots who flew the X-15 got Astronaut wings after their first flight...

Yes Shadow Boy I noticed that later, What I meant to say was AX-15 those were build in Cold war they were arsenic based fully, but them were all disarmed in name of humanity(I bet that some still excict). V-X racket's mildly base in arsenic that why you melt (not very beatiful).

God is in control of all. Life will not be wiped out for quite some time... However, that does not mean weapons of mass destruction will not be used... Somewhere, someone will survive, just like others.

It is scary I might add to think that a nuke could come splat in the middle of your city and you not being able to escape it's wrath.

As for my kids, I have none... and for a good while I hope.

Basement shelter, as long as your underground and the door is really secure, you'll be fine, the deeper the better. Radiation could kill you though, lucky though i dont live in a major city, so there's little point in wasting an expensive nuclear bomb on my area.
