A question
hey, dont get pissed if this sounds redundant, but posting is what forums are all about...right? not like I'm making the server crash or anything.
Anyway, I was remembering Icefire's .plan file and I was a bit unclear.... will the next thing you release be:
1) Full EA-Minbari war campaign?
2) V2 of the mod with all known EA/minbari ships?
3) both together?
If 2 or 3, then will the Victory (Excaliber) be included in the Earth Alliance ships?

Earth Minbari war full is being considered separately from Release 2.

I'm not sure anybody on the team is producing a full EA-Minbari campaign, it is not a high priority. I think that EA Civil War and the Narn-Centauri War are much higher priorities for the team.
I certainly hope that is so, because then fans can create their own EA-Minbari and Raider campaigns in the knowledge that they are not (at least immediately) redundant.

The EA Civil war script is still under development. Till its completion I am the only one busy with it. The rest of the team is having brainstorms , doing more ships and working on the website I presume.
When the script is complete ( which will take a while..... ) I will gather the campaign team. That means mission designers for work with fred , Voiceacting , CB-anis and so on.....
You should know that for the CIVIL WAR a lot of ships are needed that aren't completed yet , so I am not in the need to hurry. If the Civil War comes 2002 ( and I said : IF ) , then late 2002. Eventually 2003.
Nevertheless I am working on it every day.

Ok, now I'm a bit confused, sorry. Then the next release in fact will not be the EA Civil War as I understood it? Reading above am I to understand then the next release actually the Earth-Minbari War full? Or is it something else?
I read IceFire was working in the Dra'kh Campaign, now there's something I want to see; the Victory, Warlock, Poseidon and Tempest in action, I am certain that will be my favorite campaign of all. I know that will not come out until after the EA Civil War but it's the one I am most looking forward to.
So anyways all I am wondering then is what is being worked on next? Please do not refer me to other threads because all threads which mention the next release in any form are contradictory at best. I recall Omega, Warlock and T-Bolt for next release but in terms of what campaign is next I am drawing a blank, can you please clarify your plans?
Skullar 2 questions:
1. What do you mean the Civil War requires a lot of ships you don't have now? As I take it over plenty of the ships are done: Olympus, Nova, Hyperion, Aurora Star Fury, Sharlin and Nial. All you need really is the White Star, Omega, B5, GodSat and T-Bolt. Anything else like League ships aren't even necessary because they never actually took part of the Civil War. Yes, I know the League gave Sheridan a fleet of their ships and in the very last seconds of Endgame they "helped" destroy the GodSats. Aside from that they did absolutely nothing so which ships are you referring to? Only curiosity btw
2. If you'd like any help whatsoever in developing the campaign storyline I'd gladly give any assistance officially or unofficially. Like many of this projects fans I'd like to help any way possible. I know your staff is more than capable but in case you or any other member would like a hand at story development I'm good at that. Though I won't be able to help much with actually making the missions via Fred (I can't stand it) but in storyline development I can provide good assistance.
That's all and please clear up the next release info for me, I would just like to keep informed at what to look forward to next, thanks.

As far as I know, the next release will contain all of the Minbari and EA ships including updated LoDs and final tuning of weaponry and ship stats. Also, installer issues, bug fixes, etc. will all be included.
The complementary EA Civil War campaign will be a separate release, (much) later on, same goes for the other campaigns. The sooner the campaign scripts are written, the sooner the missions can be done in Fred, the sooner voice acting cn be done, the sooner the missions can be play tested, etc., the sooner the campaigns will be released.
There is no official Minbari War campaign by TBP as of yet although this may come, fan work will have to suffice (this is a difficult campaign to write an involving story that is both interesting and realistic - cf. Canon).
There may or may not be a mini-campaign in the next release in the same vein as in the original release (i.e. Demonstrate new ships, improvements and have a rudimentary campaign), but you'd have to ask a team member to clarify this last point.
Please correct me if I am wrong on any of this, it is just my understanding of the current situation

For goodnesssakes. Okay.....here' s the COMPLETE rundown for whats next.
1) Earth Minbari War Full - We know everyone wants it and the lucky mission designers that get in will prove their talents with this campaign. Its going to be as close to 10 missions as possible.
2) Second Release - A new pack much like First Release with a mini-campaign (LARGER this time - READ IT Tomcat) with stuff like the Thunderbolt and the Omega along with alot of other EA and Minbari vessels. This release is the big focus for the team.
3) EA Civil War - To be worked on in full by the mission designers when the assets are in place. Its release will not coincide with Release 2. It will release when it is finished and ready.
4) Additional packs and campaigns. It is our policy with each release to provide missions that show off the contents of the new pack. These are to be considered mini-campaigns. Full campaigns like the EA Civil War are somewhat separate from the asset release process. Regardless of what happens with the EA Civil War and the Full Earth Minbari War, the Second Release will go ahead as planned. As will the Third, Fourth, and Fifth releases.
They will all be completed WHEN THEY ARE READ and not a day or an hour or a second beforehand.
If anyone is a fan of the Battlezone II Community Project and was watching when it released, they will know what release dates and rushed releases means. They did get it out, but they didn't check their uploaded copy and they were late with the file upload. They jumped the gun on the distribution news and they caused some people grief (100mb of download for a corrupted file). Not to rat on them only and not to discredit their work, but this aspect of their operation (and others) did not work as smoothly as it should have.
So in covering multiple bases in this post, I have covered the philosophy of designing this mod and making it work.

And as far as I know the Civil war will require also ships from the League, plus maybe some Narn and Centauri ships.

Only for 'Endgame'. IIRC there were no League ships involved in the EA Civil War, the only foreign ships involved were Sharlins and Whitestars.

I don't want to tell you all to much , but :
1) So far you saw the Civil War only from Sheridan's point of view.
2) You don't know :
- How Hague first got aware of Santiagos assassination
- What the EA Resistance fleet did in the time from SEVERED DREAMS to THIRDAGE ( end of Shadow War )
- What the resistance did till they finally got backup from the whitestar fleet
- How they tried to find each other and where they got their resupplies
- What Clark did to hunt down the defectors.
All you know is that Sheridan finally joined with his fleet and brought the thing to an end.
The Civil war campaign starts with Santiagos assassination at transfer point Io. From there on it's fluent till endgame ( and the mission after it... )

Oh , it's no mission you can know about. Deals with campaign-storyline , so don't stripmine the depths of your sparrowbrain too heavily.
