Tech database infos are very minor thing.
Mission 2 fps can be solved.
Missions are already 99.5% finished.
Sounds are good enough for the demo.
Command briefing voices are unnecassary.
Launcher is not critical part.
We can create minimum/full installation packages based on current files, and they are good.
We can release a small patch a bit later with all bug fixes/corrections.
So, what do we do? Release sooner without some minor things or later with some minor things and perhaps without some more.

Thats right Mr.Fury! I think nobody cares if there are a few little things missing, they just want to get the mod as quickly as possible. Hell i would be happy if i had only the ships but you have changed almost the whole game. Just release the demo, and if there are some minor problems, fix them later.
Please !!!!!

I think, Cpt White is right about the friday thing.
Most things are complete, but still could need some touch up. Ask yourselves...do you want a "complete" mod, or a mod, where still some things are missing.
These few days of last touch ups will give the TBP demo a better feeling believe me!
It's worth waiting...

There is no such word as "complete mod", it will never be complete. We will always modify and add stuff.
The demo is ready enough to be released in monday I think, everything essential is already 99% ready, only minor thinks are missing. But there will be always something missing, either it is a ship or better sound or better description etc.

i know what i expect from the first release and the loose ends will be tried up before release. its not a "its never perfect" situation. i wont authorise release without the fixes, and i beleieve icefire and eternal 1 will back me up on this, thats 3 of the 5 council members, decision made.
we'll see on the chat tomorrow for sure though.

*sigh*
I'm not suprised that you are planning to move the release date further away again, since i didn't expect you to be able to keep the release date anyways. Oh well, we'll get it when we get it, no sooner, and no later, maybe it's next monday, maybe next friday, maybe next month... It'll be here... someday...
Little hint for you guys... (read it, understand it, and use it, or don't, see what i care, it's just a advise, you don't want to take it, your loss (or victory, whatever), it doesn't matter to me)
Do not give release dates unless you are ablsolutely sure you can keep that date!
And when you are absolutely sure about a date, announce a date thats few weeks later than the know release date.
So if you, because of some space-time anomaly, should slip from the original release date, no one will know, since you have that extra time for the announced date , and if you do make it to that original release date, everyone will be happy since they got it _before_ the day they were told to get it...
*walks away mumbling something about damned delays and pointless release dates*

You guys should just relase the ships as they are completed instead of adding all that other BS.

this is a TC in my eyes not just a mod. Its something more professional hopefully. And I never did announce a release date, i doubt anyone has more knowledge of whats going on and what the bottle necks are at the moment , i have my finger in most pies
models area
2d art area
sound area
launcher area
It will be here within a week, no really. If its not here by next weekend I'd be surprised hopefully it will be more like mid week - tuesday / wednesday roughly.
mr fury is just getting a bit excited, see we basically have the final version installed now and he cant see why we cant release it, but i feel all bugs should be removed, currently clicking of the weapons tab in the tech room crashes the game - that kind of thing.
