convert dxf to pof
I've tried to convert several dxf files to pof. the models show up in the Segeltuch POF
editor when I start a new project and import dxf file as child of current node. But when I try to generate a POF file I either get a message that the editor made an error and shuts down or the pof generates and I see nothing when I use the pof view utility.
i am a complete novice and don't know the first thing about making ANYTHING(except for the poly counts) nor do i even own a 3D rendering program(I downloaded Truespace 5 but in the demo you cannot save so I got rid of it).ALL I WANT IS ONE GODDAMN B5 SHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats all I want in my life!!!!!!!!!!
(OK I ADMIT THAT IS SAD BUT HEY,JUST ONE DAMN SHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
P.S. ONE DAMN SHIP
P.P.S. On a better note, anyone see Pedro strike out 16 against Tampa Bay?

Not a clue. There are no clear cut answers in the world of 3D modeling and model conversion.
Usually it involves a painful process of beating your head against your computer screen until it works or doesn't.
Try voodoo magic

I admit I'm so desperate that I converted Indepence War B5 mods to dxf format and then tried that.I've tried other things too, but I don't want to say what because the voodoo gods have no sense of humor.

Despite the length of the development process our mod will COME . ( we have come too far to abandon the project )
And for people like you it will be the ultimate salvation I guess.
Be patient for a few weeks , lets say.... 40 days from now on... and you will have something to admit.

hey whitestar check this one out... http://www.us.righthemisphere.com/3dexploration/
and download the utility youll fid it probably the mos helpfull of the tools avaiable it alows co load and covert meshes and texies ina milion diferent formats and use cob2fs2.exe tool as well as segeltuch and kazan's CS tool give it a try I have a few models runing (not complete buts thats better than nothing).
tryind to convert autocad meshes will be like trying to make an aircraft carrier on your swiming pool! :P
that involves puting alot of subobjects together and it is a triky business for each one you merge.
Try like me snatching some meshes on the net and do it the EASY way looka at the MY NEW PROJECT topic ,last posts for some more clues.

I Have all of budas models and I've downloaded 3D exploration(very cool program)
saved the models in dxf format and loaded them in segeltuch(sometimes they actually show up, most of the time they don't)and I can't for the life of me get even a goddamn sick figure plane to show up!(I really didn't try a stick figure plane)
SCREW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tooka a carefull look a those models and merged the all files corresponding to each model using 3d exation (its quite easy) and got a full complemet of ships including the warlock (muhahahah ) and the omega-x.
I'm downloading the texie tool kit for convertion purposes.
I'm going to work on them like mad from tomorrow on
