Details - Last man standing.

This is a mission that is not related to any episode. It is part of the storyline in the Agamemnon posting in B5 Heat Em Up Campaign.

During campaign, in the first missions, you are based at the Io transfer Point. If during one of these missions the Io Station is destroyed and you survive, then you get posted to the EA Agamemnon. In this particular mission : Last Man Standing

Background - Trennor System

The Trennor system asteroid base was built by the EA in 2251. It was a deep range look out post with a colony based on the nearby planet Dros. In 2256 the Asteroid base was handed over to the Brakiri due to its expensive maintenance costs and long travelling times, it was decided that the colony (mixed races over time) and the Base should be left in the custody of the Neighbouring Brakiri. Over the last year many races inc. Narn, Centauri, Drazi, Brakiri and a few others have taken the base for themselves. It is in Neutral Territory but other races consider this sector as a strategic location for a deep range look out post.

The base has just been heavily attacked and has been evacuated. The Drazi is the current race in control of the Asteroid Base. The EA has decided to retake this EA Built station to Stabilise the area, and protect the human residents and other races on the colony. As you are attached to the Agamemnon, You have been tasked to enter the area, clear any hostiles and retake the base while no other races are around and the base is empty.

Enjoy

I keep getting CRC Failure in various files. I've tried downloading it three times and every time it's been a different file.

CRC error ?? I`m using windows 98SE
I haven`t had any such problems, are you using FS2Open or the standard FS2.. (requires FS2Open).

G.I Jim0, try downloading it now, the zip is fixed.

(edit) you`ll also need Den5`s shippack 1 for the mission to work properly. Hope this helps.

Trouble with mission? --

Make sure you have latest FS2_open_r (3.5.5)
Make sure you have installed Dens ship pack
Make sure all files are extracted to their relevant folders within your fs2/data/ folder.

Hi Mad, thanks for all the cool missions and the campaign you've made. I have a question for you, I have a problem with this:

quote:
Make sure you have latest FS2_open_r (3.5.5)

Is that Open thing necessary or can I play it with TBP installed into the actual FS2 cd game? Everything I see now is always listed for that FS Open so I was wondering if it would work with the original purchased game. Thanks a lot.

It will require latest FS2Open..
The main reasons are glowmaps and shinemaps..
For instance, the BI Avioki uses glowmaps, this ship won`t render in standard FS2 without crashing. To get FS2Open to funtion properly you will need the latest launcher that is availble at the sorce code forums, I won`t put up a link, because it wouldn`t work in my case

Downloading again now. The file size seems about right now, when I downloaded it yesterday it was only like 240kb...

Whitelight, a CRC error is an error in a file when you try to extract it from a zip file. Not a FSII error. Yes, I do have the ship pack, VORLONS ROCK! And the latest Open build.

Thanks anyway.

So. Very. Hard. Every where you look there's a capship or something shooting at you.

But, it still rocks. The Aggy died when those Centauri showed up after it was pummelled by those two Sunhawks.

Um, I didn`t mean to discorage you Ghost Rider...

There are ships that will work in DTP`s third beta release it is near standard except though The BI Avioki has intersecting pollies or something, so far that is the only ship that won`t work that i`ve found.. The shadow and vorlon ships work for me in DTP`s version, as do the sky serpent, skyhawk and whitestar..

Hmm, maybe I should give standard FS2 a go and see which ships will work. I think I will

Ok gave standard fred2 a go and the following ships will work without intercepting pollies. ISA Whitestar (c) Shadow Battlecrab (a) and (c) Shadow spitfire VE Fighter (b)

Ships that won`t work are as follows ISA Whitestar, not to be confused with the ISA Whitestar (c) Shadow Scout, BI Avioki, VE Cruiser (a) and the VE Star Dreadnaught..

Any not listed in the shippack 1 I have removed from the ships table
Hope this helps to clear the air some what

I appreciate you ran those ships to see which work and which don't. Nevertheless, I won't be able to play any of the missions that require FS_Open (such as this one) but at least I hope R2 and the upcoming patch work with the standard cd game, as R1 did, thanks again for all the info.

I'm testing the R2 patch missions in both regular FS2 and FS2 Open. So far they've worked in both.

Why not Ghost? Is your machine too low spec to play FS2_open or is it just that you're having problems setting up FS2_open?

Neither of those should prevent a ship from working in FS2 Retail. The game will just ignore the presence of either. Glowpoints might cause you a problem but IIRC even they are ignored.

As you state later the problem is the intersecting polys.

Glad your enjoying it, theres loads in this mission. Try taking your chances in the asteroid field!! lol

Ghost - I don`t think these missions will work with the retail version of fs2 open because they where made in the latest vervsion of fred, so when you try to load them in the retail version it would say - unable to load mission.

It would look mint with a cockpit view

I don't think it's too low spec to run FS Open...thought I'm not exactly sure what specs it requires to run at the moment.

My comp specs are 2GHz Processor, 256MB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 2 AGP. I can run pretty new games in high settings so I don't think it should be a problem. On the other hand, I just prefer to play the retail version, that's all, and since I like to burn everything so I can reinstall it and play it again later, it's more simple to use the retail version with the TC than to go through the process of FS_Open. It's ok, no big deal.

And the screenies look fantastic Mad, great job!
