Problems with new Fred Build

When I load up the new FRED build it comes up with error saying - no briefing icon.

Main problem is that all missions done or saved in new Fred build are not able to load through fs2-open.

Any ideas or is there a new build of fs2-open to match with new Fred build??

what fs2-open build are you using... this fred build is off the same codebase as the latest fs2 open build

note: the latested numbered buiild 3.5.5 which is EONs old and way out of date and the latest working builds are dated 4-4-04

Downloaded and installed the new fs2-open. Missions now working fine but my frame rate on both of my pc`s and my laptop have become almost unplayable.

Any Ideas or am I doing something wrong?

which version are you using?
there is a 4/5/04 build out there that has better memory handling abilities.

Open the launcher, select the "Flags" Tab and add a custom flag called "-ambient_factor 90".
You can adjust the intensitiy of the ambient light , but 90 gives a good balance.

EDIT: Oh, and make sure you checked the "-spec" box
