Need video help

Hi everyone! Long time FS2 player, only my second posting on the VBB. I need some help.
I recently, last week, almost totally rebuilt my system. My computer's specs are:

P4 2.8Ghz 800fsb
Intel 865 PERL motherboard
ATI Radeon 9800 pro videoboard
512MB PC3200 DDR RAM
32x CDROM
An older hard drive but plenty of available space

With this higher end system I've built, my game play is actually worse than when I ran FS2 on my old Win95 machine with a Voodoo 3000 video card. Everything seems to bog down the further I go into missions. I've tried both the 16 bit and 32 bit versions at 1024 resolution and that doesn't seem to make a difference. I hate the idea of lowering the resolution to a level below what I was playing at before I upgraded my system. Anyone have any ideas?

try the XP compadability mode and try the HLP exes.

I'm running XP and I've tried running it in compatability mode for 95 and ME. Didn't notice any difference. Btw, what are the "HLP exes?"

I am running SETI@home. Should I disable this before I run FS2? Guess it couldn't hurt to try, huh?

An upgraded version of FS2. It might be worth a try.

Thanks for reply.
I've got an account in hotmail. But when I sent an e-mail to remora, Icefire or other members, it saied me that there was a failure and the mails are undeliveried.
I don't know the HLPF but I'll visit.
Oh... did you think I manage me in english? I don't make many efforts at school.
