FRED: Staying still with desired orientation???

Hey, I'm making my second mission for my <haha> campaign. Anyways, there's something that needs to be guarded and I have a few ships jump in near it to defend it. When the ships jump in they're facing away from it with initial orders set to "Stay Still" and the option set to the waypoint. But whenever they come in they turn around and face the thing their supposed to guard. And it doesnt make a whole lot of sense if the ship's guns are pointing at their own people. So how do I get the ship facing the way I want and keeping still??? Play Dead? But does it still fire if its set to play dead? I don't want it disabled, I just don't want the damn thing to move until I tell it to.

Uh, if you mean setting the speed to zero I've tried that. If you mean setting the engine subsystem to zero strength, uh, I'd prefer not to if possible. Seems a little improbable. I like thing to make sense in my campaigns/missions?

I'll try putting a little waypoint in front of the ship and telling it to go there first, then to STAY, that might work.

Wink Its all good

I just gave 'em "No orders" and they're staying put now. They go a hell of along way once they leave hyperspace but I just needed to back 'em up to fix that. So my mission is back on track. yeehaw
