When the Nials get beams...

Woudn't that be a little harsh for the other fighters? Beams knock fighters to different positions and throws them off course right? I woudn't want to be in a Thunderbolt with a Nial on my tail, constantly getting my course changed by that damn yellow beam ...

Don't worry about fighter beams, they work fine and players will be happy.

Some weeks ago, I was playing Minbari War demo missions where Nial had real beams. I can say it was really fun.

And once again: R2 does not officially support source code changes, but unofficially it does. IceFire is working on tbp_open versions of tables. You will need to download tbp_open and tables seperately, not a big download.

A warning is in place howewer, tbp_open does have bugs. Fs2_open is still in heavy development and it is not anywhere near mature yet.

Talking about weapons is there any way, source code or otherwise, to allow cap-ships to have more than one weapon firing sound playing at any given time?

Those heavy plasmas get kind of annoying when the nova fires them, cause the firing sound keeps restarting before it finishes because of this

There is indeed such limitation.

Before R1 was released, I had SB Live. I reported about odd sounds when Nova fires, BlackSheep stated that it's an FS2 limitation.

I don't know if hardware has any effect on the limitation.
