Adding inflight chatter...
Since you are doing total conversion here, and doing sounds and stuff... And with the source code you should be able to increase the amount of inflight wingmen chatter. I think it is sooo stupid when your wingmen go around killing stuff blowing up Cains and so on without saying a word. But when Alpha 1 whacks a Basilisk they gongratulate you for doing such a heroic act. I liked the way the pilots babbled all the time in X-wing Alliance.
Though it was little annoying when about dozen pilots were crying at the same time about them damn turbolasers...
It doesn't feel right when a wingman dies and no one says a word. But, again, when player screws up and dies we have someone informing the squad about it.
I think I fixed this with events in Movements in the Mist... When wingman died screming, someone soon confirmed that we really got a pilot down. It sounded great me thinks. But adding all those messages manually is annoying. It would be great if the could be in the messages.tbl instead.
I would be nice if other pilots would comment their own doings instead of following what the player does. Don't you think?
So what do you think about this?

Sounds good, its annoying that there is so low chatter in mids of combat. Report of wingman going down would add some more tensity on missions.

As good an idea as this is...suggesting it here is going to get less done than if you suggest it to the SCP guys on the HLP forums

I crossed my mind. But as I understand, you are making your own TBP build and not actually using the SCP one. And you are doing chatter anyway and half of this "operation" would be making those voices...
If it really is a good idea someone else will go to tell the code masters about, saving me the trouble. And if not, it really isn't that good idea anyway and I don't feel bad about it... well perhaps little
In any case, most of the inflght chatter comes from me yelling to the monitor.

Aha. The someone else will do it phenomenon, greatest cause of nothing getting done syndrome
Seriously it's a pretty good idea so why should only B5 get it? Why not get the SCP guys to do it so that we use it in B5 AND FS2?

Yep. I'm lazy.
That's why I haven't even registerd in to HLP. Im just stalking there. Quietly. I've been meaning to open my mouth there few times, but haven't got myself to do it...

Ofcourse it would be great if it would be implemented everywhere!
My point is that this endeavor is quite useless without someone recording those voices. And for standard FS2 it would be hard to make em sound like those of original Volitions personas. Other choice would be to record all new wingmen personas...
So this would be greatest use to those making campaigns with voices, or those making total conversions and such. Hence I came to preach about it here. I figured if this creates a sufficent uprising here, the mob will take it to the lions throne at HLP and so on.
And when the masses have distracted the all mighty gurus I can make my move and take over the entire... oops...
Never mind. Bye.

it is worth it.
