Lightning Marshal 3: Out now
Yup, it's definately out. Downloadable from 3dap.com/hlp/hosted/lmarshal
I'd wait about 1/2 hours from now before downloading the voice acting, I'm uploading it as we speak. Otherwise it's all there. Currently, seperate VPs only, I'll add a single VP for cable users.... maybe.
What you will get:
- 12 action-packed missions in one furious campaign. With a storyline. What more could you want?
- CUTSCENES! Yes, a total running time of more than 4 minutes, completely prerendered cutscenes.
- Voice Acting. Partial, unfortunately. Due to time restraints and a problem with our femal voice actor only briefings, and story-critical missions are voiced. A full voice pack may follow, if demanded
- Command Briefing animations. Naturally.
- MUSIC! Yes, a completely new battle track, a new mainhall, and three new briefing tracks.
What you will need
- DivX 5.x
- WinZip
- FS2_open 3.4 if you don't want cutscenes, or FS2_open 3.5 if you want 'em. All other FS2_open extras are supported, naturally.
- A good connection, because the entire thing is 90 megabytes in size.
Comment preferably here or in this thread.
No, go and download it, pilot!

Hmm, I think I'll wait until my new soundcard arrives. My onboard sound keeps giving me static.

I'd give it 5 of 5 if I were a game tester - or 4.9 if I was b***in.
I already played it till the first movie (I did download all the media coming with the campaign - trust me it's worth it).
Anyway the statistics:
-Story 5 :
We are given memorable characters like Ductape Macky in Derelict (so far the only campaign I still list as the number one).
The plot makes sense, the little details help to immerse in the universe - especially the references to FS2.
It's a pre FS2campaign and it's good to see that the technology is on the "right level". - Although the Katana is an obvious overkill imho.
-Mission design 4*
I only give it 4 because some of the missions are too hard for mainstream pilots. Furthermore there are still glitches in some of them - nothing serious though.
The missions present a challenge - they force the pilot to develop tactics and improove.
-Art 5
The voiceacting - alhtough lacking full cover of dialoges, they are done with an outstading professionalism for a usermade campaign. *None of the buzzy "i'm dead, some one help" flatlines
-Music 4
Once again I'm forced to rate it only 4 because rock may not pass with all pilots, still it's an excelent job - I simply love the new mainhallmusic.

Have I installed the music files correctly? I'm getting the usual FS2 music during each mission. I just unzipped the file into the Freespace 2 root directory.
I felt the second mission was a bit too hard. The ship you are recommended to disable is very heavily armed and thus very hard to disable. On top of that it sometimes dies too quickly thanks to the allied ship blasting it to death. Not being able to adjust loadout is a real pain. A bomber with stilleto's would be a better choice for this mission than a fighter with a subsystem disruption gun.
The third mission really needs mission objectives to help keep track of the ships that have been tracked. Also the briefing suggest you need to scan all their big ships but some don't need to be scanned.
Finally the intial briefing suggests you'll be posings as pirates but so far I haven't seen a mission where you are. Most of the missions don't seem to be covert ops type missions either. Babysitting duty should be for the regular troops, not the SOC.

Holywhippet, note that you are ordered to disarm certain vessels, BUT your squadron leader promptly suggest you to ignore the orders and cover the Los Angeles instead.
In other words, you fail the mission if the LA doesn't make it, but you get a bitchin' if you don't capture the ships, BUT you can proceed

Of course. Just run FS2.exe instead of Fs2_open.exe.
