Fuel

In IFH, the Starfury's have fuel that can run out. Were you planning on implementing a fuel system?

on one hand this is a good idea. As seen in the series furies need fuel, but on the other hand this fuel is almost infinite a it can keep up for really long flight time.

nope, while IFH is more of simulation, we consider the babylon project aimed more towards an arcade style of play. Therefore the two games each have their niche.

I still think TBP is going to be the longest running and most dedicated Babylon 5 total conversion (and is the most fun to play )

I can play anything as long as it's B5 related. Even a spectrum "Delenn vs. Sheridan" porno-game

Fuel system is not really practical in FS2 in my opinion.
FS2 and TBP are not simulations but more like arcade, just like White said.

I doubt a StarFury is going to run out of fuel in 10 minutes (the usual length of a FreeSpace 2 mission). But no, probably no fuel system. We've focused on fun and hopefully a sort of cinematic feel to the action.

I think a fuel system might make it more canon, something that a few people are looking for (personally I'd hate a fuel system..although I did change the auroras tables so I could have unlimited afterburn ).
But isn't it possible to make little optional mods to TBP? It'd be cool, you guys could have a little section where people could DL modded table files, each one with a different function. Fuel no fuel, super weapons, cheasy weapons..etc...just and idea....

- oh yeah, couldn't the support ships refuel you?

Don't you think that the two statements are in conflict?
When did you see any support ships in B5, refueling fighters during a battle?

In freespace you start slowing down as soon as you kill the burners so a fuel system wouldn't be a good idea. I believe in IFH you can get to a speed, kill the engines and stay at that speed forever(newtonian style), so a fuel system is more practical.

From B5 to sector 14 was a 4 hour round trip if memory serves, and the starfury never had to refuel.
