Hey all, Ive got a little problem with BWO demo.

I've played it up to mission 4 but when ever I try to play that mission it crashes, usually about when the 2 gas miners jump in. The furthest I've been ableto get to is when the 2nd wave of miners arrive and then it just crashes.

It gives an illegal action error and a stack dump, all the crap. I think it might be to do with a nebula effect as dead ahead of the Hecate destroyer theres a Massive pink diamond were I guess a nebula should be.

I've tried reinstalling the demo several times and using a blank install of Freespace.

Any ideas anyone?

I`ve heard of a square in the backround, but a diamond, this is new...

I downloaded the demo and it ran fine for me, it sounds like it is missing a file or a file is corrupt, but as i am just a grunt around here my imput would be less than helpful... Damn

You may want to read the (square o death) thread that`s posted here, may shead some light on this issue...

Hey I finished the demo and am tryin to play the main campaign again and i dont have secondary weapons in the missions, why?

You need to rename .tbl files on data\tables\ and select campaign properly. This fix whole thing.

Where did you download the demo from? Maybe there's a version floating about with a corrupted file.

It was the main BWO download link so I reckoned that its just missing a file since it only seems to be me. I'll just have to poke about some more with my install.

Looks like it's three now. I've got the same problem. but I'll try what Lady Rose suggests and see if that fixes it. I'd rearly like to know what happens at the end of mission 4.

I think it is the planet, because when I used the stars.tbl on that mission there was no planet that i could see before it crashed. It can run for alittle while if I don't look at the square. Well the square is just a slight turn to the left. So, what ever that is, that is the problem.
