problems patching freespace

I have the 1.06 patch for freespace. but whenever i run the patch to update freespace i get this error message:

"
There was an error processing the patch:
Invalid Patch File 'C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\WZS7190.TMP\patch.rtp'
"
Need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

which "version" of freespace2 do you have?

If it's the 1.06v of the patch his problem is with FS1 not FS2.

I have no idea what's causing the problem. Are you sure you have the right patch for your version of FS? There were 3 or 4 versions depending on where in the world your copy is from.

I have no idea what's causing the problem. Are you sure you have the right patch for your version of FS? There were 3 or 4 versions depending on where in the world your copy is from.

ahh, right... come to think of it, I'm having the same problem... but I have the "international" version of it, and d/l:ed the international patch...

where did you download the patch from? did you open from current location or save it?

Problems patching freespace(oops!)/Problems playing silent threat

Ok, ok. i feel kinda silly about this. i posted on this because i couldnt update my version of freespace to v1.06. Well, it turns out that it already was v1.06. Again, im sorry about this. But i would like to thank the people who replied to my post.

/next problem

I bought freespace 1 with silent threat. I installed silent threat after i beat the main freespace campaign and it has been virtually unplayable. what i mean when i say unplayable is that it freezes very often. Sometimes at the ship selection screen, the briefing screen, the pilot selection screen, and, if i can get to it, during the mission. help wanted..... I am currently running version 1.06 of freespace(1).

Silent threat shouldn`t have destabilised your copy that badly. If you don`t have any mods installed (and it sounds like you don`t) I can only think of two courses of action

1) uninstall and then reinstall.

2) Download FS2 (If you don`t already have it) from [URL=http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=4150]Home of the Underdogs[/URL] and get the missing files from the HotU page of my FAQ. Then go to [URL=http://www.3dap.com/hlp/hosted/fsport/]FS1 Ported to FS2[/URL] and download the port of FS1.

Okay the second way is more complicated if you don`t have FS2 already but it does get you FS2
