The reason that I asked was that you never actually here of any political units within the Alliance, saving the Russian Consortium, although Senator Hidoshi seems to represent a North American State of some kind (the backdrop behind his office shows the Golden Gate I think).
The Gunnery Officer who had the King Arthur fixation was from a state mentioned in an episode, but I don't have it on tape so I can't check.

I can't say anything to which state he belongs. But in two episodes of the first season, you can also see him in front of a city. I'm for 99,9% sure, that this city is Zurich (Switzerland).
Perhaps he's just working there or he actually comes from Zurich.
