Is Summoner 2 really only for PS 2 ???

I'm a true fan of Summoner 1. In fact, I think it is one of the best computer games that exist, so
no wonder that I'm pumped up for Summoner 2.
But on the website of Summoner 2 they say that
Summoner 2 was coming soon for Playstation 2.
Does that mean that there won't be a PC-version of
this game???
This would be truly unfair,to publish the continuation on a different platform than the classic version, especially since I do not own a PS2 and I do not intend to buy one just to be able to play this game.
Please post me, if you know any details.

4 Things on this one.

1) Hi
2) Yes it's PS2 only.
3) It's not so much continuing on a different platform it's just continuing on one less platform. S1 was relaesed on both PC and PS2
4) Many people have already complained about the decision but THQ and Voliton have not changed their minds so it's not be worth arguing about anymore.

Absolutely - Totally agree (For PC substitute Mac) having a PS2 only version is a bit short sighted Don't get me wrong, I love my PS2, but the Mac/PC version of the game is sooo much better Also what about Xbox? I'm sure that could be a stomping conversion!

S2 and FFX are the only things stopping me selling my PS2 at the moment, i'm playing more games on PC now. The PS2 is just sat upstairs gathering dust.

I say keep complaining to Volition. If enough people do then they will know the market is there and therefore profits would justify their efforts

Yes, I am playing Baldurs Gate + Icewind Dale on the Mac, I have played Summoner too much! The PS2 comes out for World Rally Championship, then goes back to gathering dust

A point in their deffence Volition are a business so this was probably based on some research. I don't know the sales figures for S1 but they want to make money as much as the rest of us, although if you asked i'm sure the development team they would much rather be paid in our appreciation than in actual money
From what i've read S1 was a PS2 only title originally but got ported to PC a little later on. Perhaps the 'PS2 Exclusive' is only meant as it won't appear on GC or XBox. Wait,by all means let Volition know that you will buy a PC release but leave off all the ranting about how unfair it is, it's geting boring now.

Sorry if i was a bit short with you but it's all I've been hearing since S2 was announced in January "Volition Betrayed us" "I want Summoner 2 on PC" etc it does get tedious after a while.
But i understand why you want to say it.

but it is getting really boring hearing ppl complain. like i said in a previous post, it takes blood, sweat and tears to create the magic. it doesnt just happen. people dont work for free. it takes a lot of effort and hard work and resources to create even one platform, and port the rest. ask anyone who has, is or is trying to make a game of their own.

Well, you'll have to buy or rent a PS2 and they're getting cheaper and cheaper by each day.
A friend of mine plans to buy one and I'll try to play Summoner 2 as soon as it's released.

Thank god for my PS2

I can tell what all you guys who don't have a PS2 are feeling so i hope u don't mind as i gloat for a bit (I need to let out exam stress) hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha i can play on s2 hahahahahaha ,
sorry about that, but a ps2 is a worthwhile console to all those who are on a pc as you can get some great titles on it eg, ffX, S2 and Burnout 2 which is coming soon, ps can everyone go to electronicsboutique.com and rate summoner as some twat has rated it a one star about 10 times so it has a low rating.

I would like to re-state my previous objection - The reason being that I spent most of the weekend playing Summoner on line, and it is a great co-operative game. Unless the PS2 gets a FAST on-line option then a lot of people will miss out when Summoner 2 is released. So let's continue the debate and hope that there will be a PC/Mac Summoner 2. Reasons:

1 On-line ability, especially good with Broadband/ADSL line.
2 Better and easier gameplay using mouse/keyboard.
3 Better graphics.
4 There are many more Macs & PCs than Playstations.
5 An opportunity lost is an opportunity wasted.

Alternatively: Start hassling Sony to get the PS2 modem/ethernet sorted.

Sony are teaming up with Blueyonder Broadband to provide PS2 access in the UK (when the modem/HDD arrive) would 512Kb/s be fast enough for you Mr Clave
