Yes. Both FS1 and FS2 uses basically same modding tools.

Scroll down and take the Descent Manager FREESPACE KIT.
Modelling and texturing gurus here can give more detailed information about modelling and texturing.

Only major moding differences are the differences in POF spec between FS1 and FS2. The rest is essentially the same and even the POF spec difference is minute...

Except, obviously no beams, not flak, only about half teh sexps, and I don't think most of the tables are interchangeable either.
Also, Interface is more .ani based in fs1.
But if you know fs2, you'll probably find fs1 easier.

thanx Guy's! I learned to model in the TruSpace enviroment & the FAQ support is informative.I think that I'll give it a try when I'm stumped with HomeWorld 
...Just a quick Question , Is there a utility to convert pof2cob?

Because dark green is hard to read in black background. And even if you have the choice to have colours in your text, it does not mean you should use it always. Default colours ensures good readability in different browsers and monitors.
