 Sum I, 1.4 patch only available through multiplay?

Earlier tonight, I logged into multiplayer to try it out for the first time. (I just bought Summoner I on PC recently.) I was surprised to see it download a "new" patch, 1.4. Why is this version not available to download seperately from the Volition website? What has changed in this version?

hmm...I guess no one knows where to download 1.4 seperately.
