Hmm, I own:
Record of Lodoss War One of 2 favorites.(2 DVDs or 6 VHS)
Iria: Zeiram the Animation One of 2 favorites out of all the ones I've seen. (1 DVD or 3 VHS)

But I've also seen:
Patlabor: The Moblie Police (many, many DVDs and VHS)
Dragon Ball
Dragon Ball Z Who hasn't seen it? (numerous DVDs, uncountable VHS)

Want to buy:
Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight Haven't seen it yet, but want to buy just based on how good the original was. (4 DVDs or 9 VHS)

I've seen some other but I forget what.

I have:

Rurouni Kenshin God knows how many episodes (also my favorite Anime)

Senkaiden Houshin Engi all 26 episodes.

Love Hina almost all episodes and specials

Ranma ½ almost complete 6/7-8 seasons

Ghost in the Shell only movie

And couple Neon Genesis Evangelion episodes


And then there is manga, but its too hard to remember what I have

(had to put space between soshi and te... It didn't like it so much , well anyway it mean "and")

was bubblegum crisis: tokyo 20-something listed?

Also, watch the movie princess mononoke, blood the last vampire.

I could dig out my huge 40-cd collection, but i'm at work at the moment...

Also, hand maid may if you can tolerate something that's BORDERLINE, uh, well it gives the impression of hentai but isn't. it's got a good story actually (13 or 10 episodes methinks). another good one is Visions of Escaflowne. Go with the subtitled version, as the dubbed EPs suck (and they removed most good scenes and language because the dubbed version was intended to be broadcasted on FOX kids tv).

There's lots more in my collection, i just can't think right now. I'll update later this evening.

I can't believe there's a discussion on good anime that doesn't include Cowboy Bebop. Everything about is just awesome, from the characters, to the animation, to the ultra-l33t Jazz soundtrack. (26 episodes and a movie, Knockin on Heaven's Door)

Then there's also Macross Plus, which is superb as well. (It's done by some of the same people who worked on Cowboy Bebop, BTW). Actually, any Macross is good, as long as it isn't Macross II: Lovers Again, which sucks. (Macross Plus is 4 OAV episodes. There is also a movie version of it, although I haven't seen it)

Finally, there's FLCL, which is just goofy, funny, and has an awesome soundtrack. (The best way I can describe the music is Weezer but in Japanese) You can't get this on DVD yet (it's supposed to be out in a few months) but I got all 6 episodes from iMesh.

And to reiterate what BRANOD said earlier, get Escaflowne. Now.
