RF v1.3 released, but why the spam?

I'm all for a new, cheat-free Red Faction update, but Allan's gone way over the top promoting it.
He's got some guy / bot roaming around servers, using just about every cheat in the book, telling people to update.
This totally ruins the game for everyone. What if I don't want to update? What if I want to play on a 1.2 server? Allan has taken the choice away from us, effectively forcing us to upgrade.
What if a new, not-so-tech-savvy player wants to start playing RF, and doesn't know what to do? They can't go to an official support site, and the immense amount of stupidity on the House of Plus site, light-hearted or not, is likely to turn players away from RF for good.
Why the hell do you have to be so damn offensive about wanting to use 1.2?
And it's not like I'm going to instantly trust a hypocrite to give me a spyware / virus free download.
Allan, please get that cheating bot off Red Faction Multi permenantly.

Instead of spamming, lagging, cheating and mucking the game up for everyone, you could have just asked us to update. If you had, I would have been far more trusting and willing to download the update. But as it is, I'm a bit suspicious about it until it becomes official.

1, I don't think Allan would be using a cheater to promote it. If he did he'd be in trouble with PLuS.

2, wtf do you think we've been trying to do? Since the 1.3 upgrade came out we've been promoting it, asking people to play it. Everyone says "I'll switch when everyone else does."
And anyone that thinks it's a back-door or a trojan needs to get his head examined. They are NOT out to get you.

I've been using the 1.3 upgrade since it came out. After some people that were trying to sabotage it's use claimed it was a trojan, I checked my firewall logs. Nothing abnormal showed up, nothing has happened to my system. I spent as much time in RF as anyone esle for a while after this came out.
Recently I've been doing things that have taking away from my game time, but I'm playing RF 1.3 again and it's fun.

NO ONE has cheated in RF 1.3 yet.
Anyone that claims they have are full of crap.
houseofplus.com is offering anyone that can prove they cheat a 50 dollar reward.

In 1.3 it's great to know that if ur beaten it's by pure skill alone. And by the same token no can call u a cheater.

I hope teh patch makers come by and state their case in this thread.

And in the 2 months since it's release to the public (03-Sep-2002), I've yet to hear of a single problem, cheating or hacking.

[Edit:] Just b/c Allan owns u in RF isn't a reason to accuse him of cheating. That was one of the major problems in RF, which is another reason 1.3 was made.

Ill say again there is no advantage to useoing this app all it does is advertize 1.3 and its not a bot on the servers its actual players and i cant tell you who since it has been released 2 the public.

I must say thou i 2 use this app i also use another app called "sh*ttalker"... tell me this bot u played doesit say owned a lot? And yell its the best in RF, etc? Since i know every1 who has this app. So tell me which server was this on? What was his name? and did it have a spammer which says owned etc?

i can understand the 1.3 spammer beeing annoying. if people start complaining about it we should slow down a bit. its purpose is to make people upgrade, not to piss them off.

i dunno where the trojan rumours came from. maybe someone wanted to stop people upgrading, or maybe some guy was actually dumb enough to think its a trojan. 1.30 was made solely to stop cheating, theres nothing fishy about it.

btw it cant possibly have been allan using all those cheats. he would never do such a stupid thing - hes only using 1337 invisible weapon-amp m0dz that cant be detected

Well as for it being a trojan this originated I believe from [MpN]Genocide and I assuem its because he calls everyone a cheat and just doesnt want to believe that he is a wretched player. hes the first I ever seen say it is a backdoor. Other then a few cheaters themselves trying to say this. It didnt help the case when TriX the retard that he is, posted a "mod blocker" on RFHQ that actually was a trojan horse.

I've seen it on Viper 2.5 's server twice.

It's bad enough when it uses a rail gun, but when it gets fusion rockets...

But then again its funny how your team of uberleet can barely scrape up a victory against a bunch of players with no teamwork and who never play together. Thats what I find funny. And nice to know that ur team is a bunch of idiots. When a team Captain yells "STOP" everyone is supposed to stop. If we play u again and u don't stop I"m kicking peeps on ur team to even the teams out.

I wasn't even in the WC vs MZ match morons, and allan I haven't played you 1 on 1. The only time I did was when I played with you and Razor for the EK match. And that was goofing off running around.
