If you didnt visit the HLP boards while the VW was down last week then you missed our debute release of the Freespace RTS Total conversion mod for Star Trek Armada 2. Thats right it does require the entire game of star trek armada 2 but when its complete it will be entirely freespace 2!!! with the GTVA Terrans, Vasudans, and Shivans...along with NTF....Non campaign races used in instant action will be FS1 GTA, FS1 PVN, FS1 Shivans, the Ancients (used with bobbaus and darks permision?)...Anyway expect the whole 9 yards, campaign, gamespy multiplayer support, cutscenes, you name it...Were still in the developing stages importing models and we have succesfully imported the Iceni, 3 terran melee craft, and 3 vasudan melee craft (Oh yea we did get a Satis freighter in it too!!!). So with those ships in the game we took some screen shots for ya!!!! now dont go stealin our ideas, we promise you will like our version....but without further adu i present the first screen shots of the Mod!!!!!

Oh and heres one you gotta cut and paste...darn geo cities...but i imported the fs2 command ani and added interlacing to the animation...be sure to zoom it in because of the small pic distortion ok...

Good lord. STOP with this 3D only nonsense. It's NOT a space-sim game, it's the Freespace universe dropped into an RTS. So why are you all clinging to this "IT SUCKS BECAUSE IT'S NOT 3D!!!!111" thing? StarCraft wasn't 3D and it's one of the best damn RTS games out there, in my opinion. And if SC isn't your thing, how about Command and Conquer, Red Alert, Warcraft?

I see absolutely nothing wrong with a translation of the FS universe to another game engine, and if it's 2d, so WHAT? As long as it plays well, that's what matters!

And was I specifically referring to you? No, I was referring to everyone forgetting that a lot of work went into this, and the first and ONLY thing people say is "It would've been better if you'd put it in Homeworld." or "It's not 3D so it's not Freespace!"

If you want to get really nitpicky, Freespace isn't 3D either. It's a psuedo-3D image projected onto the (for all intents and purposes) 2D surface of your monitor. :P
