That bit about copying the CDs popped up on the VWBB a long time before "a few weeks ago". And if not here, then on the VBB. Of that I'm certain.

OLD news. I saw that on the VBB months and months before it closed.

OK, if the news is so OLD, then why did 3/4 of the community not know about it?

I admit I wasn't the first person to tell about it, but when I did, I got so many people that didn't believe me, or were in a major state of shock. Saying "We've had this game for three years and none of us have noticed it".

*smites Slasher and AlphaKiller for keeping us in the dark*

Do you have any idea how long I was playing off a warezed FS2 simply because it never was shipped to Israel? I didn't see the endgame movie for ages! And now you're telling me that I could have legally asked someone on the boards for a copy - and you knew it!?!?!?!?
*goes ballistic*
Ahh, that felt good.

No, I had my dad pick up FS2 over a year ago on one of his trips back to the US, thanks. There are some people on HLP who would like them, though.
Anyway, will someone bump that thread over at Extreme Tech? I'm bummed that no-one's replied yet.

Sandwich, that just says you don't know where to buy.
If you want good games when they're new, there's a store called ôøé÷ îçùáéÃÂ_ or something close to that, in Tel-Aviv (62 Eben Gvirol st.) and Herzeliya (don't remember where), that import the US versions of games, so you can get every new game there almost on day 1, and your manual will be in English, not translated.
Many games don't see the light of the day in Israel since they aren't slated to be big hits, so the Israeli publisher decides that the cost of bringing the game to Israel (which includes translating the manual, and actually shipping lots of copies to Israel) isn't worth it. The translation thingy is what causes games that ARE brought to Israel to reach the stores a month later than the rest of the world.
Well, I bought my copy in the States, but I saw a copy there.

Did ya hear about the Starcon2 re-release? The creators are porting it to modern OSes (Win32, Linux, OS X), and doing so totally for free!
Who would've thought a game company existed somewhere that actually did stuff for the community, without getting money for it.
The re-release sourceforge project is located at http://sourceforge.net/projects/sc2/
the community is located mostly at The Pages of Now and Forever
</p1mp>
Seriously, though, people were creating community clones of the game, and it's a friggin' 10 year old game, that didn't sell that well. It says something about it's quality (It's the best game ever IMO).

Meh...
me = not have car
me = hates Tel-Aviv
me = would not spend bus fare to go to Tel-Aviv just to see what games they have
me = thanks you for that info, though.
How much are the games there?

Since they stock mostly new games, around 200-240NIS, last time I looked, but there hasn't been a game worth buying there in a lot of time (I live in haifa, and don't have a car either, so I don't go there much except when I visit my grandma, which lives exactly in front of the store (Which is how I discovered it)).
