Does the ATI Radeon 9000Pro 128MB Work with FreeSpace 2?

Does it????

I have ordered a ATI Radeon 9000Pro 128MB DDR and i hope it will work with all my games.

Jedi Outcast
FreeSpace 2
X-Wing Alliance
Aliens vs Predator 2
Aliens vs Predator 2: Primal Hunt
Star Trek Bridge Commander

I hope it works on these with smooth graphics and speed at 1024x768x32 @ full detail

well, except the shadow thing on Jedi Outcast. (Takes the speed RIGHT out of it. lol

Let me know quickly, i comes tuesday or wednesday.

Theoretically, it should definately work with all except X-wing and FS2. Those two are old games, so there may be issues, but we won't know until you or someone else gets one.

I take it you've sent the GF4 back?

How much did you pay for tha Radeon btw? I'm currently planning my next upgrade and haven't decided on a couple of things yet. The video card is one of them (as is a cooling solution for an AthlonXP 2200+). I currently have my eyes on a Leadtek 128Mb GF4 Ti4200 w/ ViVo but if the Radeon can do all that, is cheaper (the LeadTek goes for about AUD$400 or so) and works with FS2 I may well consider it.

The GeForce4 runs FreeSpace 2, but it has this text problem that really annoys me.

if you don't mind the text being out of alignment, then get the GF4, it is faster then the Radeon 9000Pro.

But, the GeForce4 Ti isn't Directx 8.1 compatible.

well, it works on it, but it isn't design to take advantage of it.

The Radeon 9000 Pro is design to take advantage of Directx 8.1 & 9.0. (when Dx9 is released of course.)

If you are a fps fanatic, get the GF4, my Radeon Runs Jedi Outcast at 40-55fps when running at: 1024x768 @ Full Detail

the Geforce4 Ti does alot better then GF2 and GF3 with Directx 8.1, but the ATI Radeon 9000Pro is much better with 8.1 and 9.0
