more ships activate?

Do anybody where and/or how i can activate more ships for a race? If i place too much ships (especially player ships) for a race, FRED 2 crashes.

There is limitation for ships on FS2, you need to replace ships or just live without 'em...

Though I remeber readed that limitation of ships can removed with modification of source code. I'm not sure has this been done already or not...

Head over to Hard Light Productions. Look for DTP's modification.

MAX ships in 1 mission in Freespace 2 and FRED 2 bumped to 400
MAX Ship types bumped to 200: anything bigger will crash the game in multi player since max packets is reached
MAX combined subsystems per mission bumped to 2100
MAX subsystems pr ship in FS2 and FRED2 bumped to 200
MAX live debris pr ship bumped to 20
SHIELD icon limit bumped to 80
Debriefing success music in Multi player now works when all Primary goals are complete
Secondary fire delay, where next bank inherits previous banks remaining "fire_wait" time bug fixed.
shortcut in FRED2 - FILE->Run Freespace 2, now works
390 kb limit for TBL files bumped to 1000 kb

If you want to run the original version for some reason there are methods for reducing the size of the ships.tbl below.

DTP's beta does solve the problem quite well though. And you can find a link just as easily on this forum as on HLP
