Who would buy RF2 for the PC
originally postedby |NERV|CeCe on the +Plus+ forums
quote: While on vacation, Cheese and I took a side trip to Champaign, IL. where we visited the offices of Volition. The guys and gals we met were totally cool. And Cheese and I learned a few things:
1.) If you want to see RF2 for the PC stop bitching at Volition. The decision is not theirs and they do not deserve your complaints. Please remember Volition is the company that made the game you can't stop playing. They did something right or you still wouldn't be here.
2.) RF2 had a kick ass showing at E3. The decision to make it for the PC lies in the hands of THQ. (And they are actually talking about doing it.)
3.) If you would like to see RF2 for the pc, the best thing you can do is join me in a POSITIVE letter writing campaign to THQ, detailing why you would purchase the finished product.
4.) If you make awesome maps and understand the coding, let THQ know. Volition has its hands full. RF2 is basically finished for the PS2 platform.....but now they have to work on the foriegn language versions. They honestly do not have the current manpower to pump out a PC version any time soon. Nor do they have the green light from THQ.
These words are just my humble opinion.....but I'm willing to discuss them with anyone.
This will be a POSITIVE thread about who will buy RF2 if it came to the PC. Please dont post bad stuff in here. Just add in your desire to purchase it if it came to the PC. Remember Volition employees visit this forum and if we get enough replys, maybe they will show it to someone that can make a difference.

RF2 for the PS2 will have USB support for keyboards and mice therefore I don't really care if it comes to PC or not.

Well, I too have a PS2 and USB peripherals, but I do have to say high-res 4x FSAA is nicer than a TV.
Still, what I want to see is a brand-new V game...in a totally new genre. Something like that'd be cool.

I will probably buy both versions (PC, PS2). I want to see what all the E3 hoopla was about on PS2, but I bet the PC multiplay experience will be more fun.

It might look nicer but its not going to improvem the game in any way so it doesn't matter

I would buy it if they managed to fix the cheating bug, and got multi-player vehicles done
but that won't hapen so I don't care, I havn't played the game more than five times sence the VBB went down, and I don't think I am going to anytime soon

The Sony Internet connection thingy has both an Ethernet port (dunno if it's 10 or 100) and a 56k modem giving provision for both broadband and dialup. Not that I really care since I have zero interest in online play.

The Xbox currently has nothing worth playing that I can't already get for PS2 therefore it sucks

I'd buy it I have some weird feeling towards console games, they don't stick out as much as a good ol PC does. BTW once this little positive thread runs its course is anyone from THQ ever gonna look at it heh

I'd actually pay money for RF2 for the PC. Like I did the first one (wanna see the receipt?)
PS2? Hmm, maybe rent it. Online is what makes the games good nowadays.

I'd buy RF2 for PC if it's not the showcase of juvenile mediocrity that the first game was.
