Red Faction: Microsoft hates me

If you want to talk to me about, well, anything, then I'm afraid you're out of luck. A botched install from a damaged Visual Studio disc quickly led to a BSOD and also, I later learned, a huge amount of data loss and corruption on my hard drive. I'm doing all I can to recover what's left and back it up so I can format the whole drive. I'm none too happy about this, to say the least, and if you spot me online during the next week it's advisable not to message me unless it's extremely important, since I'll probably be deep in "let's get this stupid system working" mode. Chalk another one up for the robustness (is that even a word?) of Microsoft systems, or lack thereof. 
*Fraz wanders off muttering something about kicking Bill Gates' butt*
