Well guys, very recently i've struck upon your Forum! I'm not a hardcore BABYLON fan, maybe because all the episodes of this great sci-fi were shown on our (mine) TV without any order! It was quite funny actually(first Delen with hair,then totally bold,then with the fur on her head again etc.) ! But this is a details !
Than accidently i've saw Lady Rose's post about her need of fresh ideas for her "RAIDERS" episode................
Aren't Raiders a qute guys who were flying those lovely outdated "Zephyr" class fighters ?! (lack of my BABYLON knowledge )
But anyway...
As a hardcore space-sim player......I'm absolutely sure, that Critical succes factor is a variety of Merc's and Privateer's type missions ! Examples : (That is just a chasis, everything else depends just on your imagination)

Mission 1 : Assasination of high ranking EA(not Electronic Arts) official (paid by Marsian goverment, as far as i know they i've got tensions with EA goverment?!) or assasination of some unsuitable politician (paid by EA ! Long live democracy )
Most important, as somebody said before, you can make a nice mission with incignificant amount of ships : Wing of escort fighters + shuttle! Od course there also should be few surprises like "passing-by" Hyperion or wing of a another pirate clan (cometitors are everywhere), or maybe it is an well made ambush by EA to get rid of you once and for all !
Critical factor in this mission - time ! Wipe this shuttle before it reaches jump gate, or jump node !

Mission 2 : Capture of a Luxury Liner ! (just imagine what a profit you could get out of those "walking wallets" ) !
Number of ships : Luxury Liner + 2-3 wings of escort fighters + quick strike force (Hyperion + 2 wings ) (somebody should get rid of you eventually) + a lot of subsystems to disable

Mission 3 : Ruining the Earth-Minbari prisoner exchange ! (or someone's else) for ransom or maybe for some "third" force, i'm not that good in scenario....)
! long forgotten corner of a galaxy pair of EA and Minbari warships, transports wich are sniffing back and forward, everything is proceding as planned, than a lightning speed attack on prisoner transports......KABOOOOM or board'em! A lot of money again.....

Mission 4 : Defence of a raiders outpost ! EA and other races certainly won't give you milk and cookies for you "high activity"! They'll most likely send a punishing force to your home base........
Ships: Strike group+ outpost + a lot of fighters, transports etc.

So if you are still alive and reading this.... plzzzz let me know about your opinion...
And not too much criticism please, it is my first post, i hope i'll serve well to BABYLON PROJECT !

Quite good stuff Dzerriba Shigen, but some have few probs:

Mission 1: Good idea and will come (most likely) reality in campaign, but if it is EA high ranking official it means Nova and lots of fighters... It is miracle that 8 zephyr wins 4 Starfury and you are in zephyr side (in medium)... But thinkable idea

Mission 2: Very good idea, but dont have Luxury Liner

Mission 3: In this mission you would get kicked in ass proxmitately in 12 sec.

Mission 4: This mission will happen already planned it.

I see got lots of usable idea and you dont hold 'em back, that is good. Contact me via e-mail or via ICQ: 96370338 so we can talk more...

BTW two first mission of Raider campaign is ready, but first need some polishing, mayby I should release secon mission

Mhh, why wouldn't mission 3 work? Just look what a single Centauri ship did to the Earth-Minbari peace talks in ITB ;-)

A wing of Raiders could wreck a lot of havoc in an equally delicate situation like a secret tech exchange or diplomatic meeting, which all can't afford a lot of military presence in fear of being discovered.
It would be an excellent chance to capture valuable tech, money, important personel (maybe even several of these things at once) or getting a lot of money from another party who want the exchange or meeting stopped. An opportunity which no true Raider would slip past even if it's dangerous (like a small but elite wing as escort for the item or person in question).

Exactly Prophet... 3-4 Zephyr can beat (with much problems) 1 Starfury and I dont even want to think what happens if Zephyrs goes against Nials.... Total massagre

in the first mission why not using a stolen starfury.

and in the third one you could ambushing a mimbary transport and then find the beam weapons on board and use them against the EA, or how about a clan fight for someone important, or being a head-hunter?

Sorry Teral, but first 2 missions are ready and third is a half way, but it appears that there must be Starfury in somepoint or else it is going to be too hard...

None of EA ships are capable to use Minbari beams, serious overload and before they could even fire Kaboom! One less bad guys
