Komet's Mod Released!
Greetings everyone, I'm Komet.
I just released a FS2 Mod simply called "Komet's Mod".
This mod upgrades the visual effects (ex. explosions) of FS2!
I hope everyone can enjoy with this mod

Hmm an update of the FS2.exe rather than an actual mod pack? I don`t like running strange .exe files at the best of times but I`m definately not running one by someone with only one posting. I`ve got nothing against you but you could be anyone.
I might try out the files in the VP though. They should be fairly safe

Thanks for testing!
Thanks for testing my mod, giving comment and also taking screenshots, R128Thunder!
Screenshots taken by you are very nice
And I found that there is no reticle...
It's my mistake that i forgot to add reticle pics into the vp file.
I will fix it soon.

Why not post the changes you`ve made to the source code so that everybody can see what's going on?
The pics look nice though.

I don't blame you.
You never know what those strange .exe files are.
Trojans, viruses, etc.
But I like to live dangerously so I tried this out.
Very impressive.
The text is a little out of place and there is no reticle like you said before but I really like the flashes on the explosions.

I showed my friend this thing and he was as impressed as I was - but he did say one thing which kinda makes sense...
We need an explosion for beam slashes that lasts longer... it should be more or less the same as it is but with about an extra 5 seconds of disappating red cloud style stuff... thus as the beam swipes across a ship the glow of the beams fire remains significantly longer. It'd look miles better - I'd do it myself if I was any good with making explosion animations - but it's a thought for later

What I'd like to see is beam traces, similar to what you see in Jedi Knight 2 when you pass the lightsaber in a wall (Glowing yellow fading to a mark on the walls, mega cool).
Great mod, I must say!

One cool mod! Aside from the graphics I love the missile lead indicator (I think that's what the grey thing is) and the circles painted around incoming missiles. One question: what defines which colour beam impact occurs? My own green beams make what I assume to be the default, white-yellow flash which is also used for missile hits.
Sid.

Well, from the screenshots, it looks pretty darn nice. I'll be sure to give it a try today, and I'll try to take some TBP screenshots with it, so you guys can see StarFuries blowing up in all their pretty effects.
BTW, for anyone worried about it containing a virus, that's why they invented virus checkers. Don't be paranoid about something unless you're gonna DO something about it.

Virus checkers won`t pick up a new virus though will they? It just strikes me that this sort of thing is an excellent way to spread a new virus. Couple that with the fact that Komet was completely unknown to me at the time and it makes me suspicious.
Fortunately in this case the .exe seems benign so I`m quite happy to download it and use it.

Worked fine for me. If it's a virus, it's a fun one.....
