Mission types

Something that occurred to me as I wrestled with the various ways that missions could be presented was to ask you guys. What types of missions do you want?

Hence the poll. However, the limitations of the poll mean that it's not perfect and you'll have to include text for 'other'. Have you any strong feelings about anything else? Action over dialogue, or vice versa? Non-combat missions? The ratio of all of the above in relation to one another?

Any missions that you'd love to play? (Even if I can't put them in BWO - the design doc is done - I am a mission designer and nothing else... )

Tell me what you think.

I agree, IMO it's the easiest way to make a mission balanced, fun, action-packed and tense.

I like assault missions, preferably in the heaviest bomber I can find

There's been way too many escort missions, I really don't like being responsible for other people.

I like raiding convoys. It's great fun to swoop down on those poor bastards.
But that wouldn't fit in BWO - I'm using it for a few missions I'm making, anyways. A mini-campaign, if you will -

Edit - I wrote a page-long summary of it to post on HLP, and I lost it!

Fools! Escort missions were the best! Being ambushed with nowhere to run?! And losing precious cargo... You guys are all wannabe war heros...

You forget that you cannt recieve new ships/weaponry unless the cargo makes it to it's destination... (Same with vessels too)

Has anyone ever managed to get a lock on a fighter when using a cyclops, I did it once (fluke) and the bomb chased the fighter around for a couple of minutes until it finanally hit the darn thing.

I blew up a wing of damaged SB Shaitans in FS1 with a Tsunami. Now that was luck

FYI: Tsunami's fly at half the speed of a Cyclops

i've managed to take out quite a few fighters with torpedoes and FS1 bombs.

it is not easy at all... and the shields usually withstand the first blast.

Sorry to disagree with you all, but defense is the best . You can kill ships that are assaulting, making it similar to an assault mission, you can intercept bombers, and you can, in a way, feel responsible for others' lives.

I love missions were you have to fly maneuverable craft and have to waste some enemy boogies, som that I can get that rush of adrenaline.... escort of vessels that are attacked by fighters, not bombers, and heavy assault... I hate bombing, I gotta say

Besides bomber interception, I also really like surgical strikes. I get a thrill out of disabling and disarming bigger ships, and making their deaths slow.....
