Question Help with Red Faction and EAX please!

Hello... I have a pretty fast PC... Pentium 4 1.50 Ghz, 512 MB of PC-133 RAM, and a GeForce 3 Ti 200. Red Faction runs well, except for ONE really annoying problem. I recently installed a soundcard. It's a SoundBlaster Live! card (a few years old), with EAX support. When I play Red Faction with EAX enabled in Multiplayer mode, the sound will just stop after a few minutes of play. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way to correct it? I really like the way the EAX adds sound effects (like the echos and such) but this is driving me nuts... any help would be appreciated... thanks.

i have had that problem quite a few times. i think it's too many "voices" playing at once, thus the card stops sounds for a bit. i noticed that sounds drop out in 'rooms' sometimes too.

Thanks for the replies.... so it sounds like the Soundblaster Audigy card might be able to solve the problem? Has anyone else had any luck with that card or others? For now I will just turn the EAX off... it's a shame though, as I think the EAX really adds something to it...
