RF related material?

I have been here and there on BB some good and some bad. While I enjoy the RF game and it community, I wonder how much general RF related material can one post about? Most all of the RF stuff is related to building and mods from what I have seen now. However, there is some non related material to that.

I would like to offer some suggestions to the new RF and BB that ahs started. I have been making my way through the forums here and have seen that many of the officials seem to threaten more then just offer some guidance. Maybe threatened is too harsh of a word to use, but implying edicate to individuals from many different races, nationalities etc, to cause some one to become threatened.

After reading some of the posts here, I feel like maybe some people are here just to feel like they have power over people. I enjoy discussion some times topic related and non topic related. I feel that a good mix of the both can lead to a very successful BB. Now, unfortunately some ones interpretation of related material and some ones non-related can vary greatly, thus leading to erroneous judgment.

I should not feel that I am being treated like a child when I am far from that error. Furthermore, I have this thing about caps. You see, when I am at work the majority of my typing has to be caps, so I forget sometimes to turn them off. You may ask why don't I notice, for the same reason you don't notice how many red cars are in one area. You are used to seeing them and they just blend in. So I may spend all this time typing in caps and not even notice it, just to get thrashed.

Finally, bold to me also means yelling, but because most do not see it that way, it is ok. The diversity of a world wide forum, can be extreme, and yes, there are bad people that may stroll by. However, if there is a out right fight from the beginning, there will always be a fight and things will just get back to the way the EBB became. Moderation, or no moderation, adults acting like adults, will enable this new board to do what it is suppose to do, and if there is some non-related info in here, I guess like this , it just may do some good to read it.

I joke around alot, thats just me, but I have come to find that sometimes when I do on net the other person just doesnt get exactly what Im joking about or even that I am. And instead defends himself rather then laughing.. I have come to realize this is cause of the vast distance and cultures that you are dealing with on the net.

Plenty of people are still just buying the game and they need help with levels and so here's a perfectly good place to ask those questions.

Regardless of race or nationality, there are some things that are fairly universally respected by all and what were asking is understanding, respect, and common sense.

I agree and I have little in the way of qualms over a off topic thread. However, I have a big problem with threads that have the topic "HEY IM NEW HERE" and have the content of "hi!". Wow, thats discussion inducing material. I'll close those threads as quickly as someone makes them. You're welcome to say that your new, but pick a question you want to ask and ask it and if you want to say your new then please do make that part of your first topic.

Typing in all caps on the Internet can be atributed to yelling. Because volume, pitch, and intonation are near impossible with text the edicate surrounding online communication has resorted to the smilies (iconograms I think someone called them), bold and italics which given symantic meaning, and the use of capital letters. Typing in all capital letters around here and 99% of other boards is considered yelling and yelling generally isn't an acceptable way of communication so therefore we want to discourage it.

Plenty of people have come here with absolutely no troubles a'tall. There are lots of teenagers and young people who display adult behavior and there are lots of adults that display the opposite. Behave the way you expect everyone else to treat you.

There's a few of you who seem to think that they disappear into the woodwork but I see them posting months later as respected members of the board and contributing to worthwhile discussions (ontopic and off topic).

The biggest problem with the VBB in the last year of its operation was that moderation was not very good and alot of stuff got more than out of hand. We've made sure here at the VWBB that moderation is more prevalent. If something is midly inapropriate, we might close it. If something is very inapropriate it'll be flat deleted. Flaming and flame wars, insults, and anything supremely offensive is going to get similar treatment. If someone here doesn't like it then they can leave and behave in such a manner somewhere else.

All that being said, we're fairly tolerant around here. People have said stuff that I let go with a smirk and a laugh sometimes. I can live with some indescretions and I think that a give and take kind of relationship is best. But the message we want to send around here is this: have a good discussion, talk about stuff and make your opinion known, but don't cross the line because we'll be there to make sure it doesn't go any farther.

Perhaps its retroactive in the short term but there are plenty of good discussions going on right now (this one included) and there will be plenty more in the future. I don't want to see those impeded on by those who would rather tell everyone to "f*** off" rather than provide some sort of meaningful reply.

no quote needed for above reply. All I have to say is thanks, and I look forward to this BB. Sometimes I feel that the BB's are moderated by the same people they try to keep away. I can see that this will not be an issue here!

Ohh, BTW I have never got a full reply like that before. Very appreciative.
